Oh, okay. Now I understand. He has a good Bruce Wayne look about him, that's for sure.
Wait, aren't you in agreement? :-/
I also believe an American actor in general is not a good idea. Sure the crossover from British to American works for Batman and Superman. But Bond is so distinctly British. I say no for Jon Hamm.
Lazenby, despite being Australian, at least grew up under the Empire, so he still counts.
And Sherlock Holmes.
I posted that because the plonker had made his post straight after mine where I'd said exactly the same thing.
Seriously though, if we'd only had English people play Bond I'd be against it. But we've had a Scott (they even changed the book character because of this), an Ozzie, a Welshman and an Irishman play Bond. So if an American can get the accent right (and I mean right), then I say go ahead.
As for this guy, well I've never seen Mad Men so I'm not sure. He looks the part though.
It's that.. sort of sqaure jawed classic hero look. It's not that all american actors have it, just that Hamm does.
I agreed with you. Next time I'll be sure to acknowledge that you share the same opinions as me.
Please, no. Sick of these people saying things like this.
And I want to learn to dance, build a time machine to travel back to 1940 and dance beneath the stars with Ginger Rogers, but that aint gonna happen.
Him and his mates are the most annoying idiots on the planet.
I still have PTSD from that time I accidentally changed the channel and The Only Way Is Essex was on. That show will make you lose faith in humanity.
=)) I made the mistake of reading a few lines of the interview. I should have read the other posts before.
Excerpt, so that others don't feel like reading the interview:
So, apart from your successful TV career, what else do you want to achieve?
I wanna be a Hollywood actor. I want to be in the new James Bond film... as the main character.
As James Bond?!
Yeah! I like Daniel Craig, all the James Bond films are good.
I honestly believe you, he looks like that kind of material.

bond..........james bond
He might be a bit old for the role if Craig goes again for another couple of films.
"Martin Campbell has said that Henry Cavill could potentially play James Bond in the future." Article then goes over how he nearly got the part back in 2005.
I have a Google News section for James Bond, it seems like every second day there's a new actor wanting to be or being touted as the next James Bond.
I had mentioned before how I could definitely see the potential of Henry Cavill as Bond one day, but I never really had strong feelings either way. My opinion was simply based on the few times I had seen him, which was here and there on The Tudors, pushing 5 years ago.
Well, now that I've seen him in Immortals- fresh from 2011, I now completely support the casting of him as Bond one day! You could argue that he was too 'pretty boy' before, but he has grown out of that already, and will only get better 5-10 years down the road!

See what I mean?
You may consider me officially on the 'Cavill for Bond #7' bandwagon now!
I think the only thing that could stand in the way is Superman at this point-- but hey, getting to play Superman isn't exactly a bad thing after all ;)
Eastenders is crap, despressing, unrealistic and unbeliveably sh*t, but at least, unlike The Only Way Is Essex, it admits that it's all not real.
He'd be about 51 in 2014. Assuming Craig has resigned by then, which is far from certain at this point, he'd already been a trifle too old IMO.
He has the right look, he's British, seems to be a decent actor from what I've seen him in and he's good in action scenes (trained fighter in real life). He's in his mid to late 30s, so he shouldn't be too old by the time Craig retires. And, even though he has done some big films, he's not too famous.

Seems perfect for Bond.
What movies he did? i'd like to watch one of them.
He was also in a Jackie Chan film I saw called The Medallion but he was just a henchman in that.
And he's in Expendables 2 this summer.
Oh, Thanks. Nice, I'll see him at Expendables 2.
