Why isn t there an Oscar for hottest actress? Who can take these clowns seriously?

I'd love to see how that would go over with the modern media.

That’s probably how it was voted for when Harvey Weinstein was in charge of it.

Yeah, but Eva Green would've won it every year since The Dreamers in 2003...

I don’t think he’s gonna make it at the Oscars, unfortunately.

Has anyone else (in the US at least) seen the short "For Your Consideration" TV spot touting NTTD for best picture? I saw it while watching the local news here in New York City this morning.

It plays to the piano opening of the title song - which was very effective IMO.

I don't see a film featuring a character as insufferable as Valdo Obruchev winning best picture, as well-crafted as it is.

I don't even see it being nominated for any of the bigger awards, i.e. Best Director, Best Actor, Best Picture.

I can definitely see nominations for production design, cinematography, sound editing and some of the other technical ones. The film is incredible on that level and definitely in the league with the best.

Try Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lawrence in general.

OK, so some people don't think Bond will make it as one of the ten best films that will get nominations. My question is, which ten films are so much better than NTTD so it won't make that list?

It’s not about which films are better, it’s about which films the foreign press association likes. And it isn’t Bond. Luckily, the Oscars don’t matter at all.

The fact that a Bond film has even a chance to get a Best Picture nomination is pretty awesome.

I think the only certainty is Billie Eilish winning the Oscar statue. That not happening would be a bigger surprise than anything else.

And the funny thing is that the song was released two years ago!

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association does the Golden Globes, where the song won and nothing or nobody else was nominated for No Time To Die. The Osacrs are by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which doesn't matter because your point still stands: It's about what they consider a good film, not what actually is a good film (which is hard or impossibly to say objectively).

Variety currently predicts these 10 for Best Picture nominations:
    1. Belfast
    2. The Power of the Dog
    3. Licorice Pizza
    4. CODA
    5. Dune
    6. West Side Story
    7. Don't Look Up
    8. King Richard
    9. Tick, Tick ... Boom!
    10. Being the Ricardos

    NTTD is at 12.
They predict nominations for Editing, Makeup and Hairstyling, Sound, Visual Effects and Original Song (where they predict a win)

SF in 2013 collected eight BAFTA nominations and won two. Since Dune will likely get all the technical prizes I hope it may get the Best British Film since Belfast should win the Best Film.

Unfortunately the AA won’t care about Bond as usual.

Man, I don’t get the appeal of LICORICE PIZZA.

I enjoyed the movie, though its central premise is, to me, on very dodgy ground at best.

'The Power of the Dog' has got to be one of the most overhyped and boring films I've ever seen. Really cannot understand all of the awards love for it.

But am glad Linus Sandgren is finally getting some recognition for his outstanding cinematography on NTTD.

I know you mean specifically for NTTD, but he has already got an Oscar and a BAFTA tucked away in the cupboard so don't worry too much for him! :D
