    Andrew Garfield as Alec Trevelyan.

No way. Garfield looks way too youthful. Besides, I don't see the point of reusing Trevelyan, Bean played him perfectly.

I’d like to see a film where Trevelyan somehow survived and both actors come back to reprise their roles, Bond is retired and is found by Alec and they have a personal duel to the death. This can be Tarantino’s Bond film, few locations, tons of great dialogue.

Anyone have any picks for a female villain/henchwoman? I know it's been discussed a bit in the Bond actor thread but it's probably worth bringing up a few names here too.

Only reason I'm posting is because after watching Titane recently I can imagine Agathe Rousselle in such a role.

It's a weird French body horror film if anyone hasn't seen it, probably not to everyone's taste but I liked it a lot. Rousselle plays a serial killer. I won't say anything else about the film (it really doesn't go where I expected it to), but she's got the ability to play a psychopathic character. I can definitely see her playing a henchwoman or villain.

@007HallY I took this out of the Bond girl casting discussion page because I think any one of these actresses would make a good female villain/henchwoman. Some more than others but still...

I can see Golshifteh Farahani playing a villain. Very good actress.

Hayley Atwell, Gwendoline Christie, Brittney Griner, Cobie Smulders, Christina Hendricks, Cate Blanchett, Leslie Grace, Melissa Benoist, Uma Thurman, Winona Ryder, Felicity Jones, Diane Lane. Some women who could pull off female Bond villains.

As for my repeated comments about Alec Trevelyan coming back. The reason is simple: he’s basically the Harvey Dent into Two-Face for Bond. There’s a lot of story ideas that could work with the character.

Love the idea of Uma Thurman. Also, Angela Bassett, Emma Thompson, Lesley Manville, Amanda Seyfried, Imelda Staunton, based on some recent Golden Globe noms.

Thank you. You have great choices as well. I’m not going to lie, Brittany Griner was kind of a joke. My dad and some of my coworkers were joking she looks like a Bond henchwoman. The way that the media has been covering her is the equivalent of a Elliot Carver story. She isn’t a hero.

Finished binge watching A Storm for Christmas. Dennis Storhoi would play a great Bond villain. In fact I could imagine a few actors in it playing a role in a Bond film, either as villains or Bond girls.

    Obviously Nic Cage.

Watching Treason, with a few Bond alumni. I think some actors in it could make good Bond villains. Ciaran Hinds among them. I'm actually surprised he never played one yet.

His Caesar in Rome was amazing. Him in Treason reminded me of his calibre in a way GoT never did.

He's getting on in years, but he'd make such a great Blofeld, as per the TB novel.

Wasn't that when everyone thought Bond 23 was gonna be The Property Of A Lady?

Yes, that's it, back in 2010, before MGM's troubles derailed it. Who knows if there was ever any truth in it? Interesting in the light of subsequent events, though!

For me a great Bond villain is less about who than how the villain is realized on film. Oscar winners Waltz and Malek were neither interesting nor fun. Waltz was better than Gray but not as good as DP (whom I disliked in the role) and nowhere nearly as enjoyable as TS. Malek? Boring. What worked for Joseph Wiseman did not work for Malek. When I recall SP and NTTD, neither actor figures prominently in my recollections. From SP, mostly I recall Blofeld's damaged eye at the conclusion. From NTTD I recall Safin's Phantom of the Opera mask. That was far more interesting than what was beneath it. Good villains have a strange attraction. We know they are bad and must get their comeuppance, but there is something compelling about them. When one's thought is 'good, they're out of the film,' not good. A good villain is someone you're going to miss a bit, even when they deserve what they get.

It all comes down to the writing I think. Actors can only do what's on the page and both Waltz and Malek were given nothing much to work with. Waltz was great in Inglorious Basterds but he had Tarentino's gift of a screenplay

One wonders what a Tarantino-written Blofeld would be like. ;-)

Not unlike what we've got in the end, I suspect. When I say Django Unchained, I thought that if Blofeld was to come back,Waltz would play him. Not sure why, both characters are very different.

How about Timothy Dalton ? Hmm...I now feel like Dr. Evil after the night he got freaky with Frau. "Was it too weird ?" "Yahhh, yah..." Also, to be serious about a rather silly idea: A Bond villain should not be so old that he'd not be physically threatening to Bond. Now, that being said - thanks, Larry David - I'll plow ahead. There has been a great variety among the villains. They can't ALL be physically threatening to Bond. In some films - such as GF - weapons (laser beam, pistol in the airplane) and a great henchman (Oddjob) have overcome any issues with the fact that GF himself was not physically problematic for Bond. In some others...meh. Eg. MR. Yeah, they brought back Jaws, but...as whaaat ? Well, all in all, I think not with regard to Tim D...

Thank you. Same with your choice of Ian McKellen. Thankfully, he played Goldfinger on the radio. I’d like to add a another Star Wars icon: Ian McDiarmid.
