Over. And over.
Did not realize that the actor who played him was a Canadian. Got to love when my fellow Canadians grace the screen in a Bond movie.
Going out on a high, he swore off card games and gambling. Set out to make a name for himself in the adult beverage world.
And not with gin!
Lets move on to another film adventure, the biggest Bond of all, Thunderball!
High body count in this one with most not making it out alive. We have surmised about Domino and Patricia, lets turn to another small character.
Brought over from the east lets find out whatever happened to Kutze.
Given 2 toys from SPECTRE, Kutze was the man in charge of the bombs. Later in the film he had a change of heart and betrayed his employer. Last seen being thrown from the Disco Volante exclaiming "I can't swim".
What happened to him? Was he ever rescued from the sea? Did SPECTRE exact Revenge and hunt him down? Did he find new toys to play with?
I want to know whatever happened to Kutze from TB?
He made his way back to the town, at one point nicking a pair of pants off a clothesline. The pants were very comfortable and warm to begin with, but as Kutze continued on, after a while his legs got cold again, and he looked down to realize his pants had become shorts. Hmm, more inconvenience. It was gonna be a long night.
Another chapter in his story of redemption was his beautiful daughter, who years later took on the challenge of dismantling warheads instead of creating or arming them.
In doing so, she sought to keep a low profile and decided using the name "Jones" would avoid attracting undue attention.
Surprisingly, earlier in his career Kutze interacted with Jill Masterson before her untimely death.
That meeting involved a familiar British agent using a cover name. Unfortunately Jill due to her bipolar condition struggled to remember faces and names. Likely Kutze suffered the same shortcoming.
So when each met the agent later in different circumstances, he went unrecognized by them both. (Credit to said agent for understanding their condition, and not mentioning it himself as self-promotion.)
Again to protect the identity of his offspring, here he cleverly dropped the "e" from his surname. To avoid detection and association with his questionable past.
So Kutze gets props for supporting the right side in the end.
But where the heck did all his memes come from?
It really makes you feel for the guy, and since SPECTRE was still a going concern at the end of this adventure you wonder if he was ever dealt with. After all he derailed the plans more than Bond did.
Delaying his nuclear mischief until a time he could find redemption. And hopefully learn to swim.
Bond to Domino: 'you swim like a man"
Kutze "......"
The saving from torture, the bomb disarming - he really went that extra mile to impress Domino but it turns out that not all Ladieslove Kutze.
Lets move on to the next screen adventure You Only Live Twice! A big adventure and I am curious about a group of ladies we see in this film.
Tiger Tanaka's bathing assistants were sexyful, they were willing and able to bathe any man. Tiger also seemed to be able to pimp out the women in question and allow for more, ahem, one on one service. There were a plentiful amount of women in this role and I am left to wonder:
Whatever happened to the bathing assistants of Tiger Tanaka?
Were they forced out of their roles when they reached a certain age? Did they get promoted to other positions with the Japanese Secret Service? They could also make gaijin into Japanese fishermen. Lots to discuss and dissect here, lets hear it!
Well that was really just a summer job for the crew.
So they returned to their regular work. May be more, I'm counting here:
Bath Girl #4 Yasuko Nagazumi (a.k.a. "Yasko") (far left in above photo) returned to her Space Program responsibilities on Moonbase Alpha's scientific installation as a data analyst and other duties.
Kudos to her for overcoming challenges with dyslexia. And for her handling of events that followed the thermonuclear explosion that propels the Moon at high speed through the galaxy and through a Black Hole prompting their search for a new home away from Earth.
Bath Girl #3 Yee-Wah Yang (Of the crew, the only one to continue in espionage) (far right in group photo).
Yee-Wah went on to interact with MI6, but with lesser agents and operatives than 007. Her disappointment is evident in the image below. Just not enough inclusion in events to be a stakeholder and care.
Can be credited with turning on one British Agent to safari jackets.
Known to hang around Casino Royale.
Lets move on and discuss another character of some import. Last seen in his office and being rather excited about heading out to discover some catacombs. I am talking about Sir Hilary Bray.
Sir Hilary Bray is a genealogist with the London College of Arms. He is quite tickled by the offer to travel to Switzerland. Even more excited that there was no objection to his fee of 1,000 guineas.
Did SPECTRE ever come calling for Sir Hilary? Did the ladies of Piz Gloria seek him out to resume their dalliances? Did the College of Arms continue to enjoy his genealogy services?
Whatever happened to Sir Hilary Bray from OHMSS?
Will try to do him justice in positive ways.
Well true to his word, "Sair Hilary" did seek out brass rubbings in the churches of Brittany.
Very successful at that.
