As far as I know, Mike hasn't retired yet.

Officially, he has not announced it, but it is obvious that he will retire because of his age. In fact, EON's most recent film after “No Time To Die” only Barbara is listed as producer. And for the upcoming “Othello”, Michael will also not be a producer.

Michael G Wilson is 82 years old. How old will he be when Bond 26 goes into production??

    ;)

I think the last time anyone tried a big series with two year gaps was Star Wars, and people still haven't stopped moaning about that, so I don't see it happening either.

Is that to do with how much more complex it is to make major big budget films now with all the CGI etc. than it was in the past?

I think it's due to a number of factors: big franchise movies are more and more expensive, casting is costly, especially returning cast, getting new original ideas is tricky, especially if you have limited source material that has already been used, etc.

Pettyfer is known for being awful to work with.

They're all drama queens at the end of the day, Craig, Our Henry and even Connery were not the best to suffer fools on set. Christian Bale, DeNiro, etc etc etc. To be honest the thought of ATJ makes my appendage shrink in disappointment....if only Babs said yes to Henry all those years ago, we would be enjoying Bond cinema every two years. So sad.

If anyone else *screamed* at their co-workers like Bale did, he would have been fired.

Lumping all of these other actors in with him is unfair to them.

It still amazes me that everyone just stayed quiet and let him have his tantrum. Where was the authority on that set? Not with the director or 1st AD clearly.

I imagine Mike will play a similar role on Bond 26 that Cubby did on Goldeneye, and we'll transition to Babs and Gregg serving as the main partnership moving forward. That's just my thoughts.

I mean, he's 82 and the next film after Bond 26 is likely still 7 or 8 years away. Hard to see how he'll still be working by that point, beyond chipping in with the odd bit of advice.

    You’re welcome.

Just don’t take that date literally. It’s somewhat of a guesstimate.

Broccoli is working on Othello as we speak. It is planned to shoot next year.

When this is complete we will get far more news on Bond moving into 2026 (with, I strongly believe), a release in 2027.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Theo James on the set of their upcoming heist thriller ‘FUZE.’

The shot with ATJ in front of Theo James makes ATJ look small (or Theo James look huge). I didn't think their size difference was that pronounced.

Yeah, that's odd. For my money, ATJ can bulk up all he wants, Theo James still looks and sounds more like Bond to me. And has more presence.

    Does he have a past ? What's more - what's in his future ?

ATJ is too street and his voice is too wheezily.
  • I didn't think their size difference was that pronounced.
It isn't. The difference between them according to the always trustworthy celebheights.com is only 4 cm. Theo James must have been standing on something when that pic was taken.

I was looking through pictures of him at 81st Venice Film Festival because his red carpet photos have been all over my respective feeds, but this popped up so for obvious reasons had to share.

She actually doesn't look too old for him either! Eva for the villain who seduces Bond in Bond 26!

Considering his actual wife is 13 years older than Eva, no, I don't think she is too old for him, lol.

If Barb picks him, it will prove she just wants Daniel Craig-Lite.

Anybody can edit an IMDb entry. Provided that the info is not irrational, it will stay on until someone corrects it. So, the 2026 release date is nothing more than a guess by some random person. Credits tend to change frequently there until a film premieres and people can check on their own, as the production team doesn't make it a priority to provide IMDb with accurate information. We had the same situation with No Time to Die, where the credits would change every other day, and almost everything was speculative for a long time.

Also, when Christian Bale had his tantrum on the set of Terminator Salvation, no one reacted because the director of photography, Shane Hurlbut, the guy he yelled at, had been overwhelmed by the project and had not really acted in a responsible way until then. He was, for instance, constantly fiddling with the lighting, even when the cast would ask him for a couple of minutes to focus. He was director McG's pick, and McG showed no authority on the set (while it was his responsibility), hence the incident.
Since 2009, Hurlbut has worked with McG a couple of times, and his other "high-profile" gig was the Need for Speed movie. Most of his recent stuff has gone direct to streaming, and it's now that he's making something of a comeback, as he handled photography for The Perfect Couple, the miniseries directed by Susanne Bier (who's mentioned from time to time, due to her work on The Night Manager, as a potential Bond director) and starring Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber and Eve Hewson, which Netflix will release in three days.

I posted those screen shots, but said to be weary of the 2026 release date (I believe that year will be a year of announcements, with shooting to begin in early 2027 and a release date later that year).

I posted the IMDBPro page because @Informe_James_Bond believed that MGW was not a part of the producing team for B26, and I mentioned he had been listed as such on this page.

But I stated to take the 2026 release date with a grain of salt.
