I would say Vincent Price, James Mason, Alan Rickman, Anthony Hopkins, Yul Brynner(as Blofeld), James Coburn(Flint vs. Bond. How cool that would've been back in the day).
Udo Kier (2000's)
Elke Sommer & Virna Lisi (Think Sommer and Koscina in DTTM - 1960's)
Anthony Hopkins (1990's)
Anthony Perkins & Michael Berryman (As Sluggsy & Horror - 1970's)
Richard Burton (As a Stromberg type villain - 1970's)
- Martin Landau
- Ian McShane
- Peter Cushing
Alan Rickman
Dennis Hopper
Anthony Hopkins
Rutger Hauer and Richard Burton were on my mental list & I forgot to put them down; Haur, especially, would be great -- even now! Yul Brynner's inspired & so is James Coburn, maybe as baddie & henchman?
Good ones, guys, keep 'em coming...
Laurence Olivier
Terence Stamp
Gerard Depardieu
Marcello Mastroianni
Robert Helpmann
Jack Hawkins
Hugh Griffith
Rex Harrison
Richard Harris
David Hemmings
Paul Freeman
Michael Gambon
Christopher Plummer
Richard Chamberlain
Anil Kapoor
One or two of these could still feature as a Bond nemesis, of course...
Love him as Bond though
Neil Purvis
Robert Wade
He probably could have fitted in 60's/70's era.
Also British actor Gareth Marks was an excellent mastermind villain in BBC BUGS series where he played Blofeld wannabe Jean Daniel.
Only have two other suggestions thery are Brian Cox & Jason Issacs. Both have villain potiential.
What?
This isn't the joke thread?
Sorry ;-)
Charlie Chaplin
Alfred Hitchcock
Alec Guinness
1970's
Maximillian Schell
Gregory Peck
Donald Sutherland
1980's
Steve Martin
Jeremy Irons
Michael Douglas
Klaus Kinski
Lee Van Cleef
Jeremy Brett
Christopher Plummer
Robert Quarry
William Marshall (as Kananga in LALD)
Anton Diffring
Howard Vernon
Luigi Pistilli
Ivan Rassimov
Oliver Reed
Rutger Hauer
Terence Stamp
Jeremy Irons
Lance Henriksen
Arnold Vosloo
so far all the villains in the Bond films have been Men and Women have played 2nd fiddle as the henchwoman/hired killer in a few movies.
how about a woman as the main villain who wants to conquer the world or whatever that will require Bond to save the day?
He was okay as Krest but again as one of the old school actors he deserved a better script.
Jack Palance I believe was considered for Scaramanga before Mr Lee came on board.
Ian McDiarmid Star Wars fame again a name to fear regarding his Emperor role.
John Travolta (he plays such great villians)
Glenn Close
Denzil Washington (like Travolta he has a wide range and would be Bond's equal in a fistfight)
