    NSNA obviously.

I like Casino Royale but I think they should have given David Niven more room.

For sure. I consider myself a David Niven fan and I would have been up for Niv being cast as an elderly Bond in a proper film. He's definitely one of the elements that make CR67 worth at least one watch.

I think for CR'67 Feldman was just throwing money at people and promising only a few days work, which is how he got Niven, Kerr, etc. They weren't really planning out a narrative.

Both the making-of book and the BR bonus features indicate that there had always been a plan to deliver a strong, albeit 'comedic' narrative. Things got messed up along the way. It's one of the more interesting production histories I've ever dived into. ;-)

Yes, but something along the lines of The Pink Panther would have worked better.

CR ‘67’s a mess for a few reasons to be fair. I think there was a lack of clear direction early on which didn’t help, but things like Sellars having effectively a breakdown doesn’t help. I think what makes it watchable ultimately is due to the calibre of talent both behind and in front of the camera, and you get some genuinely great sequences like the Berlin training school sequence or Mata’s dance number.

Very interesting thoughts posed by both sides. I haven't watched CR 67 in many years. I remember laughing at some of the humour as a teen and found the thing to be a lark. I enjoy NSNA as a film much better. I love Connery and to see him back with a PPK, back with the confidence and swagger of the character again is a joy. I would choose NSNA every time for that reason alone.

NSNA illustrates the importance of a great score. Even if nothing else were to be changed, a stronger score would have improved this flawed film immensely.
  • I’d rather watch an actual Bond film rather than a strange facsimile of one; so sign me up for CR’67.

I find NSNA very watchable for all it's flaws. Love the opening (War game) sequence and yes, the title song! The fight in the health farm is well done, if a bit on the slow side. The underwater sequence with the Shark is very impressive. I also enjoy the casino scenes, the bike chase, Bond's confrontation with Fatima and Bond's rescue of Domino at the Fort. The cast are mainly excellent, and as it has been noted before, Connery looks better in this than he did in DAF.

The score is mainly awful and the climax is disappointingly dull, but overall i prefer this to some of the EON Bonds. And certainly would rather watch this than the abominable mess that is CR'67.

Never seen CR 67. So NSNA it is. It's flawed and would definitely sit in my bottom 5 but there is some good in it.

Wonderful to hear both un-official films getting some love. I may need to find a copy of CR 67 and see if it has some redeeming features.

    Lets pose another scenario!

Would you rather have a tarot reading from Solitaire OR attend a performance of Kara Milovy?

On the one hand we have the lovely Solitaire doing some reading of the cards. She may well be able to tell you about your future or give insights into your current life or situation.

    Or

You could watch as the lovely Kara plucks the cello for your audio enjoyment. She is world famous and is on a world tour at the end of the film.

Feel free to share why you made your choice and any other nauseating details you wish to share.

I don't believe in Tarot and the like (being superstitious brings bad luck!). While I love listening to cello music, and Kara/Maryam is possibly my favourite Bond girl, not for looks but for her general personality. So Kara and her cello are definitely my choice.

Pretty much agree with all of the above, but I'm still going to pick Tarot with Solitaire; I've never had a reading before and I think it would be fun/interesting, and who better for my first time? ;)

I don't believe in tarot either and I love classical music. But then again I find Solitaire more attractive than Kara. And back in college there was a fellow student who was a cellist and we loathed each other. Tough one...

I'd say Kara because I think ultimately we have more in common.

There was that detail about Solitaire losing the power to see using the cards.

So a private performance by Kara would be unbelievable.

Okay lets try this one out!

Would you rather take a boat ride with Naomi OR search for shells with Honey?

We have the able assistant of Mr. Karl Stromberg. She is a beauty with a bit of an edge. A talented woman, Naomi can fly a helicopter or take to the seas in a boat. Some time with her would be a fun way to spend the afternoon. Careful if she follows you in a helicopter!

    Or

We take to the beaches of Jamaica and see if we can look for shells. Honey knows all the good spots and is a self taught encyclopedia of information. Careful if she is seen holding a spider near bed time.

So which will it be, to the sea with Naomi or combing the beaches with Honey?

Maybe against the grain on this one, but I'm boating with Naomi.

I would go for Honey over most Bond girls. I wouldn't fall asleep next to a dangerous girl with a knife though, so I would need something to do to keep me awake.

Solitaire vs Kara ->Solitaire. Shes'a far more interesting character, and tha cardss may just tell her what to do next.

Nomi vs Honey -> Honey. Allthough the boat ride is fun, Nomi I find not very attractive. Whilst Honey is not only beautiful, I'd be most interested in hearing her stories on snakes, spiders, etc. I might learn a bit that would be useful if I stayed a bit too long on those islands, And that, in itself, is another good reason to choose shell seeking.

From a female perspective, would go with Honey, because I think she's nice and interesting to hang out with, she could've given me some facts about wildlife and what to do in beach, and of course having fun hunting shells with her.

Honey's attractive but I don't find her sexy. Naomi on the other hand - va va voom!

I think ultimately that's why I'll go for Naomi. Honey is gorgeous, but cold, etheral, not accessible.

Haha! Right. To be honest, when I first watched Spy, I was more interested in Caroline Munro than Barbara Bach...I still prefer to see more Munro, every time I watch Spy. That wink of hers to Bond, though.
