    Whelp, seems like Martin Campbells new action movie "The Cleaner" starring Daisy Ridley has set a released date for February 2025. That's good news for fans of Bond meaning his schedule is nice and open for the next few years. ;)

    He’s already prepping his next film with Ridley, though assuming Bond comes knocking again and he’s up for it, he could always delay it or depart it altogether.

    We already know he's up for it, he's said in interviews in the last few years that he enjoys doing Bond and "would certainly consider" returning should the opportunity arise.

    The question is where does Bond go after Craig ? I assume this is not a question about Heaven or Hell...I suggest process of elimination. Where WON'T he go ? Canada. I think there's a law.

    Canada's pretty high up on the places I'd like Bond to go in the future, so it'd be a crying shame if he never got to.

    Could be a good opportunity for Vancouver to play itself on film for once instead of subbing for almost every major American city.

    I think they were planning to go to Vancouver for Dalton's third? That's the closest we've gotten.

    Just realized that Trump was the first US president since Eisenhower not to have a Bond film come out during his presidency. With Trump becoming president again he is for sure going to get a Bond film during his next term. Unless EON doesn't put out a new Bond film until 2029 which would be just ridiculous.

    Trump and Putin in office is a great excuse for a Bond movie (and other Bond media as well) to be made.

    Here's just one possible timeline - the guesswork by some tabloids had some truth and EON were keen to nad either Villeneuve or Nolan after their recent hot streaks, but both said they would want to get to work sooner, and EON didn't have their ducks in a row just yet. Ultimately both became busy, and now EON has been left in a limbo to either wait out their schedules or take a risk on a less proven director, at least as far as big budget action goes.

    Personally I think Martin Campbell could well still be the favourite. I think EON will want to take risks with the story of B26, but not necessarily the creatives behind it. Ofcourse they have a long history of going back to the same well, just look at Purvis and Wade. Also, I know his track record hasn't been the best of late, but has he ever made a bad film out of a half decent script. I think the reality is that after Green Lantern he just hasn't had the same access to high quality material, but directorially he still has a keen eye. Think about it, EON went back to Lewis Gilbert in a time of crisis for TSWLM and even Campbell himself, its not such a crazy out there idea.

    IF they decide to make a new James Bond movie I'm sure they will look for a "fresh" and contemporary director (and main actor as well). I'd say: keep the DNA of James Bond, make it a joyful ride and please avoid any nostalgia!

    I predict we will get Danny Boyle return rumours this week on the back of the 28 Years Later Trailer release. That coupled with Aaron Taylor Johnson being in the film is going to be too much for the tabloids to ignore.

    You're probably right. It's a trick they use to promote a film.

    Have you noticed how even the tabloids have slowed down talking about Bond. That's how dead the activity on this thing is right now, its not even worth writing spurious headlines over.

    Well they don't actually write something about Bond every day: just because they haven't written anything this week doesn't mean they've slowed down or lost interest.

    Yeah, I have to say I’ve actually been surprised that they’ve gone in as much as they have with these rumours over the past two years. The ATJ ones were pretty egregious and got a lot of people here excited, if not wound up! Last big one I know of (although I don’t follow them beyond what I see here) was the Steve McQueen directing one. I occasionally see the obligatory ‘bookie’s odds’ articles about who the next Bond will be too (which are complete nonsense).

    ATJ doesn't talk much about Bond either and he has a movie that will be released soon.

    There’s nothing he can say about it because there’s nothing to say. The only time I know he mentioned it was for an interview where he gave a very broad answer about only doing what’s in front of him (which I guess was effectively him saying he’s not going to look at some hypothetical audition he might or might not want or get the chance to do further down the line). He’d only mention it if he was asked anyway, and even then that’s about as much as we’d get.

    Past a point it’s nothing to do with him or EON. They’re just tabloid rumours.

    Yes, from a quick search online he’s been asked about it a number of times this year alone. He even replied at one point ‘aren’t you sick of asking about this?’ Again, what more can he say about something that’s not actually happening at the current time?

    Just to say that all predictions are a guess, so I'm just giving my guess, but I'll throw my hat in the ring and say David Michod will direct Bond 26.

    Again, just throwing my hat in the ring, anyone else is welcome to do so with their own choices. I just think that out of those initial speed dates of Berger, Michod and Kelly Marcel I think Berger is perhaps too high calibre (plus he already shot down rumours) and Marcel a little too inexperienced (her debut directorial effort was panned critically), and Michod might be "just right". He has a couple projects already wrapped production, but besides that seemingly an open schedule, which you can't say for a lot of the big names. It came down to a choice between Michod and Campbell, but I just think EON will want a more fresh voice this time.
