I posted this in the bond game future thread but realized it needed its own thread

How awesome would that have been? The attention to detail is incredible and I love all the fun gags within the game. Calvin Dyson did a breakdown and some of the history of this potential game.

I hate that this was canceled.

Agreed, I wonder who pumped the brakes on it? Lego or EON? Calvin mentions that Lego would want playsets along side the game. Maybe that became problematic? Although can you imagine a Volcano lair? Or even a space station lego? So many great sets to be imagined.

It’s a real shame this project didnt happen, but can think of a few reasons why.

    1) Typically EoN focus on “the bond of the time” so would probably want a game that covers the Craig era only, where as TT obviously wanted to do bits from all of the films.
    2) After the failure of 007 Legends, EoN were probably a bit hesitant to go down the video game route at the time.
    3) The 007 series is a little more grown up and could potentially see why Lego may not be too keen, but they do sets on Marvel, DC, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park etc and they are all franchises which target the same demographic and are broadly content wise similar. TT’s style is to “tone down” these series to make them suitable for a young audience so cant see why they couldnt do this for Bond also (the trailer indicated they easily can).

Some of the movies they turned into games are kinda violent too, anyway. Yes, Star Wars is mainly for younger people, but let's not forget that ROTS had a scene where a man is literally burning in the lava, yet Lego found a way for the scene to make it into the game.
