;))
I don't get a Bond vibe from his appearance - and i don't think a goofy innocent look is appropriate for Bond - but I've not seen his acting so maybe he has potential. It's impossible to know what Barbara Broccoli has in mind (assuming Aaron Taylor-Johnson isn't the main choice). At a wild guess I don't think she'd go for this chap O'Connor but you never know. Daniel Craig was a left field choice so history may repeat itself.
We might have our next Bond here.
Does everyone else hear OHMSS?
Ah, you’re baiting me; I don’t want to come off as an obsessive fanboy but my favorite remains Leo Suter.
I think the new “ Lynley“ series will be a nice showcase for him.
Nobody knows who he is. They're not going to pick another Lazenby.
Hardly, while he does not have an extensive body of work he has starred in a successful series , numerous films and is now filming another, “ Lynley“ which will allow him to show his potential as Bond .
No where anything near Lazenby
The last clip with Nicole Kidman on her knees made me laugh. 😂 Now that's what I call a cougar!
I prefer the younger version...
:x
I suggested Harris as well again i wouldnt mind him or Jamie dorian (who basically played the exact same role in 50 shades of grey)
Again i dont think either will be 007 (as thanks to amazon we may be in for a long haul) but if either were cast tomorrow i wouldnt be upset

But it's also reassuring that they're not going cheapen the series.
Still, we're going to be in for a wild ride it seems /facepalm
Eh? Hasbro now uses technology that scans the actor's face and digitally prints it onto the figure.
It’s likely no coincidence that this week, I heard that Aaron Taylor-Johnson was out of the running for James Bond. I’m now confident that the role will end up going elsewhere. It’s not just that audiences didn’t have an appetite for Kraven this weekend, it’s that they didn’t seem to be particularly interested in Taylor-Johnson, whose name won’t be used to sell Sony’s 28 Years Later, either. That’s a Danny Boyle-Alex Garland movie as much as it is IP, but what it isn’t is the new Aaron Taylor-Johnson movie.
Meanwhile, Josh O'Connor rises in the 007 sweepstakes.....
You mean this handsome bastard? Come on man.
Regardless, Josh is looking Bondian enough for me, especially compared to many of the other names tossed about.
Right age, height, famous but not too famous, charismatic and suave. He displays enough qualities to easily fit into the role for me.
Interestingly he swaps identities with ATJ in Kings Man. A minor role for ATJ, but one he doesn’t really make any impact with.
Dickinson on the other hand has enough presence to make an impression.
Something that he’s clearly done with his role in Babygirl.
I’d hope he’s on a watch list . Whenever Bond 26 starts to ramp up.
Along with Theo James.
Amazon may be so powerful they're prepared to stall Bond 26 indefinitely and veto Broccoli's choice of Bond. That's the worst case scenario but maybe it's a temporary dispute and they'll resolve it and all be friends again. ;))
So The Sun got it wrong? Shock horror. ;))
Interestingly enough, The Sun did accurately predict Daniel Craig would be Bond. They ran news he was signed before the official Eon announcement.
Anyway, I think for now since there are no auditions, no one can actually be 'out of the running'. If anything Kraven's failure means ATJ will be free to potentially commit to Bond if they really wanted him. Not like previous Bond actors haven't starred in some pretty notable flops anyway (the likes of Dalton, for example, was in Sextette was a pretty major failure and based on the clip I've seen of his singing pretty embarrassing in places). The only thing holding him back from the role is his potential (or lack thereof).
The social media attention tends to fade away after the show or film has been seen and people move onto the next hot new show or film, although Henry Cavill and Idris Elba bucked that trend and remained popular choices in the social mediaverse. I recall many tv interviews with Elba and him being asked about Bond. Cavill too.
Here's a list of actors getting next Bond attention and what they were starring in around the time.
Henry Cavill > Superman. To be fair he was in the final two list (Craig vs Cavill in 2005) before being cast as Superman (2011) but Cavill's profile went sky high when cast as Superman. Cavill wasn't widely known in 2005.
Tom Hiddleston > The Night Manager
Richard Madden > Bodyguard
Regé-Jean Page > Bridgerton
Aidan Turner > Poldark
Theo James > The Gentlemen. James has been mentioned in the past but The Gentlemen gave him a new lease of attention.
Clive Owen > The Hire BMW film shorts brought him to a larger audience and led to a Hollywood film career although he was known in the UK for tv's The Chancer and the film The Croupier.
Hugh Jackman > X-Men
Daniel Craig > Layer Cake. Arguably the role that led to Craig getting Bond?
James Norton > Grantchester
Idris Elba > Luther in the UK and The Wire in the US.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson > Bullet Train. He was best known for appearing in Kickass but he was too young at the time to be considered for Bond.
There are other guys such as Julian McMahon, Sam Worthington (Jake from Avatar), Dougray Scott etc. All got their 15 mins of "next Bond? fame.
In light of the recent press about the working relationship between studio and producers, what's the likelihood of Amazon giving a similar 'we want this actor or we're not paying' ultimatum? If so, is BB likely to accede to it? If she did, what precedent would that set in the relationship between Amazon and EON? After all, that relationship didn't get off to the best of starts when BB and MGW publicly expressed their desire to keep working with two particular MGM execs and Amazon then fired those very execs shortly thereafter. It only seems to have got worse since, tbh.
Why did everyone try to make Sam Worthington happen for such a long time? I wonder if the Bond folks didn't audition him just to try and figure it out.
More recent version: Jai Courtney.
I don't think there is a Pierce Brosnan type candidate in 2024. One that feels like the really obvious choice. Cubby was in a fortunate position to have Brosnan as the standby guy. The reserve parachute so to speak!
Arguably Henry Cavill is a luke warm standby guy. He has his supporters and his detractors but I don't feel he was destined to play Bond in the way Brosnan was hyped back in the late 80s and into the 90s. Brosnan also had the huge advantage of not being an A list actor prior to casting. It didn't matter if he starred in flops as he wasn't making huge blockbusters/big budget films with him as the leading actor but Cavill and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have starred in big films (certainly large budget studio films) like Man From Uncle, Apple's Argylle, Kraven (and they have done very poorly). Cavill and Johnson aren't proven big box office so there is no compelling reason to cast them whereas Brosnan’s star was rising but he wasn't at the A list level in terms of profile or high salary. He was the supporting actor in Mrs Doubtfire not the main star.
Brosnan’s The Lawnmower Man did quite well.
And of course the main appeal of The Lawnmower Man was the author. It was a Stephen King adaptation. King a very popular writer.
There's also the possibility Barbara Broccoli is less excited about Bond than she was in 95 - the 1990s soft ish reboot of Bond and 2006 - the Craig Bond Begins reboot. Broccoli is 64 and maybe the idea of casting a new Bond doesn't excite her. I'm just saying this to be provocative but maybe subconsciously she wants to provoke Amazon so they will play hardball or she can play hardball and that way she delays making the film? It's sort of a good excuse to kick the franchise down the road. 🤭
