    Marianne Faithfull died at the age of 78 in London. While she became best known as one of the numerous girlfriends of Mick Jagger in the sixties, she also built her own career as a singer (and also actor), starting with the Rolling Stones song As Tears Go By. Until the mid-1980s, she was addicted to heroin, so it is really a miracle she survived until now. She co-wrote the Stones song Sister Morphine based on her experience. Jagger supposedly also composed Wild Horses for her. It was also told (apparently incorrectly) that she was the last person together with The Doors' Jim Morrison when he died of an overdose in Paris, July 1971. She had a late comeback as a singer with her album Broken English, and her rendition of Dr. Hook's The Ballad of Lucy Jordan actually was the fifth-best selling single in Germany in 1979. In the 2000s, she had both breast cancer and hepatitis-C, so she once more turned out to be a survivor - until now. RIP.

    When actor Alain Delon passed way last August, Ms. Faithful even became - briefly - an internet meme (from the "The Girl on a Motorcycle" period, IIRC).

    Didn't realise he had passed.
    Scorcese's documentary about The Band called The Last Waltz is worthy of anyone's time. Any retrospective of Scorcese's work can not ignore this gem.

    'George and Mildred' is correct, a spin off from 'Man about the house'.
    R.I.P. Brian Murphy, like a lot of comedy actors from that era, he ended up on 'Last of the Summer Wine' sitcom!

    Sad news about Brian Murphy. My parents liked George and Mildred. I remember him best from the children's show Wizadora. I had to look the name of the show up but that's what it was called. He also had a memorable turn as a policeman in a Jonathan Creek episode. He was a good actor and was apparently still working pretty much up to his death

    English actor P.H. Moriarty has sadly passed away.

    Best remembered for his role in the Guy Ritchie movie, 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.'
    He also appeared alongside Bob Hoskins in 'The Long Good Friday' along with many other film credits.

    Musician and actor Jean Sarrus, once member of the group Les Charlots, passed away on february 19th, aged 79 :

    Les Charlots were the stars of famous Bond spoof Bons Baisers de Hong Kong, where they played four french secret agents who were assigned to investigate the kidnapping of Her Majesty. That movie also starred a few Bond actors, like Clifton James, and Bernard Lee and Loix Maxwell who reprised their roles as M and Miss Moneypenny, but also Mickey Rooney and David Tomlinson.

    This is such sad news. Ms. Flack was one of the defining voices of her time and a major part of my youth. I can still recall the sounds of "Killing Me Softly" waltzing through my 6th grade school yard at lunch time.

    This one really hurts.
