I do think, for all of the talk of streaming giants not doing great by these franchises, one aspect they do tend to nail is casting. All of the recent Marvel superheroes, the new stars of Star Wars, Jack Ryan, Reacher etc. - they've all got the casting spot-on for a lot of people.
A thing to note out of all those franchises as well is there is a mixture of well known actors (prior to their roles in those at least) and lesser well known ones. At the very least it's not a straightforward case that A-Listers were picked for all those roles. Not to say there were any unknowns I can think of in there (I suppose even the likes of Tom Holland and Chris Hemsworth did some stuff before joining Marvel), but Bond has only once cast an actor who could be considered 'an unknown' anyway.
Another thing to remember is if EON began meeting actors that might be the roster they go from (or at least consider). Personally, I think it's a case where there's absolutely no indication of who Amazon will cast. Maybe once the creatives are lined up we might get an idea. But it's all up in the air for now.
Saw this funny yet brutal comment on The Telegraph website comment section:
🤭 Ouch. I love the Amazon "classic" comment. 😂
Yes, but he's rather limited. He had two or three big successes, GOT, when he was part of a massive ensemble cast, The Bodyguard, which wasn't a very demanding role, and Bastille Day when he was in the shadow of Idris Elba.
He actually deleted Instagram a few weeks ago, but he had 12 million follows before doing so. Personally, I LOVE the idea of Elordi getting the role. He is a good actor and looks like a leading man. He has been my number one choice for over a year now and I hope Amazon agree, he was phtographed with Jennifer Salke at the Saltburn premiere...even has the company logo behind him
Watch this trailer for his move star qualities:

He's just giving young James Bond!
Maaaaybe in 15 years time. Not now and not 5 years from now.
As for Elordi in particular, I can't put finger on what it is but I just don't see it. He just looks like a combination of sad and a bit clueless in those pictures, like there's nothing going on behind the eyes.
I could see Amazon casting him though
I agree 100%
Hahaha, just grand.
Elordi looks like a goofy effete caricature to me, hard pass.
Hoult is an intriguing possibility and is exactly the right age, 35; I don't know if Amazon would want to share him with the Superman franchise, though.
It's tricky to find a young-enough actor who will want to do it (it is career-changing and the actor will never get another moment's peace, publicly), who isn't already tied down to a competing studio's franchise.
Amazon will back up the money truck to whoever they choose, that's for sure.
And I think a lot of the fantasy choices here are simply too old to take on a franchise (except for maybe Brosnan as a one-off, older Bond--but what are they going to do with him? Kill Bond off again?!?).
With Eon's deliberate pace, I think we were looking at late 20s actors. But with Amazon taking the reins, I'd say the pace will be quicker and we are looking at early to mid-30s.
Yes, you're right; to be honest I think being tied to Superman would mean the Bond folks wouldn't touch him- just too much of a headache.
Yes that's the thing: a movie where old, retired Bond gets dragged back for one last job is literally the last movie we just had.
For the same people though, crucially.
History has shown that this type of thing brings up too much unnecessary conflict.
Just my opinion
Go away.
You are right, I apologise; I'm just so sickened by the latest news of an hour or so ago it's hard not to express it. Will take it elsewhere though.
Suter, James, Hoult , A.Turner and someone in whom I recently have seen potential, Harry Lawtey.
