It seems officially the project hasn’t moved into preproduction yet— there is, as far as the industry is concerned (and not from Insneider-types), that no writers have been attached, nor a director.

If this holds (and IMDbpro has B26 as “announcement”, and not even “in development”), then these are very early days indeed.

    yeah maybe like 2028-2029

If we are still waiting for Bond 26 in 2029 man that would be rough. I'm hoping no later than summer 2028.

Lol. But few days back, I thought you were cool with waiting for Bond 26....no matter the release date. Or am I wrong? Pls, correct me if I'm wrong.

The Euros in 2028 is held in the UK and begins on June 9th. I think it makes the most sense to time a new Bond film with a big national celebration like this, comparative to the London Olympics preceding the release of Skyfall in 2012. After such a long wait and build up of anticipation for the new era, I just feel like the two events would complement eachother well and go even further into creating an atmosphere of excitement than even Amazon's marketing might could achieve. I think if Bond 26 is ready for 2027 then great, but if they release beyond that (which based on @peter @007HallY and @mtm analysis it looks like the case) then they should honestly just wait until the summer, as this kind of opportunity doesn't come along too often.

Yeah. That's fair. I understand. So it's right to say it's 2027 or 2028. I, too can't see beyond those two years for Bond 26.

It's a European version of the World Cup, a football/Soccer event, and England's current squad is considered world class. For a football event like this to take place in the UK only happens around once every 30 years or so, so like I said, it's a very rare opportunity.

Well, I've always said I have no idea when they'll release this film, and my opinion is they're in early development (so very early stages - likely beyond even official conformations, without official director/screenwriter confirmations, and no script at the current time, but simply initial budget and story discussions etc).

I really don't know when this film will come to fruition. 2027 or 2028 wouldn't be unlikely But it's early days.

Hi think you guys are completely wrong expecting A James Bond.

They are going to analyse YouTube fakes videos and do a film where Dalton, Brosnan, and Lazenby will all be playing bond at the same time across the Casino table.

This is what we're going to get.

Yeah. I don't think Amazon have written any secret James Bond script down. What I would say is, at the very least...we keep getting Bond 26 announcements and build-ups...until everything about Bond 26 comes together.

We’re definitely not getting an old school poster of the 60s and 70s. Times have changed. Even posters by the 90s were already becoming simplified with photoshop.

This discussion reminds me of attending the Liam Neeson MARLOWE film at a multiplex and discovering there were no posters displayed whatsoever. None for any of the films playing.
I think it's sad that the movie poster is a lost art, and I really don't care for overly simplistic posters. For instance, I found most of the SKYFALL posters rather boring.
That said, there are instances where I loved striking images of Bond: the teaser posters for TLD, GE, TND, and CR are among my favorites.

Good point. However, that assumes that Amazon-MGM care about Great Britain being the base of Bond's success and I would say that is yet to be proven.
Plus, I'm not sure if England could take losing another Euros at home followed by a disappointing Bond film. So, depending on how bullish you are on the film, if you are living in England you may want to hope they don't combine the two. Could be the ultimate anti-2012-Olympics moment.

Do we think a sorceress would be a good fit for a Bond villain? Let's say an evil version of Solitaire, that knows Bond's moves...before he makes them.

Remember that England don't have to win in order for Bond to benefit from an air of celebration. Whenever there's a big event on like this, people get caught up in the fever and are more inclined to get out and spend their discretionary income. Ofcourse England winning it would be best all round, but its not necessary.

2027 would be a great year for release for B26. All the creative possibilities for merging 2027 into 007. However I suspect that year is a bit optimistic based on where things are at in pre pre pre production! 2028 to 2030 seems much more realistic. Heyman and Pascal have got their hands full with Master Potter.

I wonder if the new actor actually knows he’s got it yet?

They told me yesterday there's no chance.

    So, one down.

Likewise. They told me I’m too short for the part I told Pascal that I can wear heeled shoes like Tom Cruise does in all his films but she didn’t buy it for some reason!

It could work. For any Bond media.
