I think the number of Bond fans who like or dislike DC is unquantifiable unless you've conducted a poll of all of them. Not everyone posts on forums and the majority of people left posting on the old traditional Bond forums (and this new message board) tend to be majority Craig fans because the naysayers lost interest long ago for understandable reasons and drifted off.

Right, because there are absolutely no Moore, Dalton, Connery, Lazenby or Brosnan fans on this site. Oh, and all those people who actually like all Bonds, they just don't exist!
I don't see how saying that Quantum of Solace wasn't a Bond film (which it wasn't) and that I don't regard Daniel Craig to be James Bond is trolling. That's just my opinion.

Hmm... Bond is in it, M is in it, MI6 is in it... that usually denotes Bond film. And yes, it is your opinion, but you're calling us "14 year-olds" for defending our opinions, which you clearly don't respect. So, tell us: why should we respect yours?

Oh, @doubleoego, several of your "Bond"s came out as "Bobd".
I'm trying to educate you all.

Educate? So your opinion is fact now? May I ask who died and made you Lord of All Things Bond?

CaptainFlandry, what you meant when saying 'educate you all' ? Are you thinking we are below YOUR education? Everyone here IS educated, we don't need to be taught. We ain't below you. Better: We ain't childs.

@Captain Flandry, if you've come here, purely to incite arguing and bickering you're wasting your time. As NicNac said, all Bond fans are welcome here. But we have T&C's that we expect members to abide by.
If people are going to continue to bicker, then further action will be taken.

As if I would ever do that. I'm trying to educate you all. :-)

I've been watching Bond since 1968, how are you going to educate me? Loser L-)

Go back to CNB and your loser friends.

As an advocate of free speech I would like to defend CaptainFlandry as although his posts exhibit some signs of trolling I dont think that as of yet he has crossed the line from merely offering his own opinion and we dont need to resort to calling him names.

That said:
Daniel Craig has made Bond unwatchable for me so I will continue to complain!!

You state above CaptainFlandry that Craig has 'made Bond unwatchable', therefore implying that pre Craig Bond was watchable. The last film befoe this 'unwatchable' era started was DAD so by logical extension of your comment you are stating that DAD was an improvement over the Craig era? If that is you position you may not be a troll but you are certainly a clown.

See chaps its easy - no need to name call without reason, just use the Captains own words to condemn him as not having a clue what hes talking about.

Educate? First homework task go and read some Fleming Captain and then when you have the faintest morsel of knowledge about the subject you are discussing you can perhaps enter the debate because at the moment you are a mere padawan who doesnt even know how turn a lightsabre on.

Common Wizard we all know DAD was one of the best Bond films made.

Actually, it sounds like a joke used to relieve tension.

I can see his first point though. Not so much that Craig is one-note but he is sooo serious. Goodness gracious. All of the Bonds (save for Dalton at certain times), had a lightness to them. Granted, I'm a new Bond fan but in the past whenever I thought of Bond, I thought of someone closer to Connery, Moore or Brosnann.

However, I view Craig as simply another intrepation of the character. Not one that I particularly care for but change is good once in a while.

Ah an argument. Always fun to read. Cmon guys, some of you like Daniel Craig, some of you hate him, lets just all agree Timothy Dalton was awesome and the very best ;)

I'm one of those!

Barbara Broccoli and Craig were not friends. She saw his potential when she watched Layer Cake. Whether they are friends now I don't know, but Cubby was great friends with Roger Moore and (I believe) Timothy Dalton, so I don't see anything strange in colleagues on film franchises becoming friends.

I think Barbara would like to be more than friends with Craig though.

Sounds like you've already spent too long in the sun as it is mate with comments like that.
• Fassbender will never be Bond. Broccoli family always goes with unknown so that they can pay them cheap before they have to shell out $$$$ before they become stars portraying Bond. I think the characteristic that Craig lacks the most is sophistication. I have been watching Danger Man with McGoohan lately and that is the epitome how the Bond character should be played. No wonder Cubby wanted him to play the role on three occasions (DN, OHMSS and LALD). Barbara wants to make Bond fine art and that is why she has Craig there. Also, to attract Finnes, etc. She has changed the formula her father created. Too much Bourne not enough Bond.

You used the B word again. Forget that franchise please, DC has to play to his strengths, great actor and hulk smash attitude. All the Bonds have played to their strengths, apart from GL and he wasn't given time for his Bond character to develop.

I think they'll go with my secret Bond actor or like him. The boy in 'about a boy' is growing up to be Bond....

I'm one, too. And until there comes one that's absolute sh*t (a day which will never come, unless they cast the guy who voiced him in Agent Under Fire), I'll always like all the Bonds. Each one brings something different, and so it is important to view them differently.

Wiz, I haven't even gotten warmed up on that bilge rat Flounders. Educate me? A fan of 40+ years? Please! I've forgotten more about Bond than he'll ever know. I'll cut him so low that when I'm finished he'll be able to sit on a coin and dangle his feet.

The other posters complaining are justly and rightly offended with that "holier than thou" attitude. I joined the CNB site when all the "Craigativity" (NICE, just coined a new term) started out. And realized that not only was I being unfair by judging the guy before I saw him play Bond, but that they were as well. I've went through every change right in the theater, I've seen the exhilarating highs and the embarrassing lows of every era. Even our posters here who dislike Craig will be there when Skyfall debuts because they are real fans. A real Bond fan accepts changes and rolls with it, because those of us who sat idly for 6 years without Bond well know that our world is better with Bond. Most of the CNB comments I read were from pissed off Brosnan fans who claimed they'd boycott the franchise until they got a different Bond. If I had the attitude of that bunch, I'd have quit being a Bond fan when Sir Sean left. They aren't real fans, and when they come here with their lame hair color, face, and height jokes, it's basically spamming and trolling and we don't need that.

Eventually, I decided that if I was going to invest my personal time to discuss Bond, I wanted to be among Bond fans that were knowledgeable and insightful, the best of the best. Then I found the old site and realized that JP and his crew were the best out there and so were my fellow Bondaholics that were there. Surely we don't always agree with each other, but at least when I post I know that 99 times out of 100 I'm going to get an intelligent response.

Wiz, you forgot to add "ass" to clown ;)

I don't exist that is strange lol....

I love all 6 actors

But one point i want to make Am i the only one hoping for one more Fleming titled bond film staring Daniel Craig?
• They could do that with Craig, or any other Bond. But Risico and Property Of Lady are the only halfway decent Fleming titles left.

If they decide not to use either of those two, or if they've used them in the future, then I'd say don't bother and just think of an original title.

I think they used QOS just because it was a Fleming title and that has to be the worst Bond title out of all of them.

I was just mocking him. I don't truly believe that fans who love all 6 actors don't exist, as I'm one of those people as well. It's just this... Damnit Flanders! Er, Flandry!

Why not us the B word. Those movies lack any sophtication. Give me a good FWL, FYEO or LTK instead of the car chase, machine gun, etc extraganza that was QoS. Is Finaly Light available for Bond 26.

• Tell me this after Skyfall where we see a tuxedo clad Bond floating up to an elegant casino to locate and meet the beautiful Severine. Pure class and sophistication in those shots.

CR wasn't QOS. Of course we'd love another classic like CR, FRWL, FYEO, or LTK. Hopefully the new one will deliver.

You pick LTK over TLD? I always felt Dalton gave us a more classic performance in his first film.

I was just listing back to him his choices. To answer, yes, but not by much. I've got LTK #3 and TLD #5. Love both and feel both are classics. Agreed that TLD was much more classic Bond. But LTK was such fresh and different new ground that no Bond had touched before and played right into Dalton's strengths as far as what I thought he established in TLD. That's why I rate it higher, for equal greatness yet originality. The chance and path taken with LTK has been controversial even among Bond fans, but I loved the film the moment it ended and have always defended it as a classic.

I thought Daniel Craig was supposed to be a serious actor? Why is he planning to make 12 James Bond movies?

I suppose his movie career is dead outside Bond after last years flops and Barbara Broccoli can't face making a Bond movie without him, so presuming Skyfall is not a critical failure like QOS Craig will be forced to be Bond for the next ten years.

Also Benny. DanielCraigisnotBond is still going strong and has one of the biggest and oldest Bond forums on the internet!!!!!

I thought those were supposed to be easy to type on (note: coming from someone who's never used a phone for anything other than a couple games and actually calling someone, so my knowledge of anything internet related is limited).

It looks like my second question has been answered:

http://www.deadline.com/2012/09/daniel-craig-confirmed-for-2-more-bond-films-which-sony-pictures-co-financing-with-mgm/#more-331562

How can Deadline 'confirm' something that has not been officially commented on?

Will Sony/MGM/EON release a statement now or wait until they announce Bond 24 first?

Good. Things should run smooth for the next two films then

They are welcome here as well, as long as they stick to the T&Cs. We have our own group of anti-Craig members (one of them is a mod) and we all co-exist happilly ;-)
Well we have our support for Daniel Craig members. Well your anti Craig member are losers. Right from the beginning.

MI6 broke a world exclusive back in September when we revealed that Daniel Craig had extended his original contract and would star in two more films after "Skyfall", bringing his tenure up to a total of at least five outings as 007.

The story quickly spread around the media, and now Daniel Craig has gone on the record with <a href="http://www.shortlist.com/entertainment/films/daniel-craig-i-want-to-get-violent"; target="_blank">Shortlist to confirm that the report was 100% accurate. Asked "How many more films are you signed up to?", Craig simply confirmed: "Two more."

Sony have also extended their commitment to team with MGM on co-financing the next two outings with Craig.

A total of five outings would make him the third longest serving James Bond actor in terms of films produced, but Craig has already clocked up six years in the role over three movies, longer than the time it took Sean Connery to make five.

Sony have stated they want Bond 24 to be released in late 2014, but EON Productions have cautioned that this may be too aggressive a schedule.
