Where did the part
Thanks :)
Wasn't part of this one shot or featured in Macau even? Huh.
Nothing. It's underrated in the Bond canon.
1. Oh Her Majesty's Secret Service-John Barry
2. Live and Let Die-Paul McCartney
3. You Only Live Twice-Nancy Sinatra
4. A View to a Kill-Duran Duran
5. Goldfinger-Shirley Bassey
6. Skyfall-Adele
7. You Know my Name-Chris Cornell
8. The Living Daylights-Aha
9. Goldeneye-Tina Turner
10. Nobody Does it Better- Carly Simon
But with Adele's Skyfall I can honestly say it's in my top 5. Not more, not less. With LALD, YOLT, GE, We Have All The Time In The World (whats the abbreviation for that one??).
AWTD is rock bottom (if only they had Keys let it sing on her own!!), then DAD I guess (if only they had gotten ANYBODY ELSE...)
That's not true. I rated Die Another Day at the very bottom from the beginning.
Sorry, I thought my sentence ´I don´t say anything against your opinion´ was self-explanatory. I meant that at face value, no sarcasm intended. I just felt compelled to throw out into the field my opposing opinion - opinion regarding the song and the song only, not your understanding or evaluation. Since this SF song reminds me strongly of the TWINE song, it makes sense to me that if you like one you also like the other. Again, no criticism or sarcasm intended. Sorry if I didn´t make myself clear before, I hope I do now.
I think TWINE is the best of the Brosnan songs and one of the best in the series.
p.s. it unmistakably sounds like a adele pop song, it will chart very high, probably go to number one.
This track is certainly way better than I'd expected, but even so it's still not perfect. As others have mentioned, it is rather repetitive. It is rather repetitive. It is rather repetitive.
But I suppose that's to be expected with pop-music, unfortunately.
I have a gut feeling that the audience kinda like this kind of repetitive chorus. In my opinion, on many occasions that's the formula for success. It's not that complicated song, so it gets stuck in your brains completely.
Hearing the reacions on the internet makes me also think that the audience were actually missing this Bond-ian feeling. And that's back with a bang, capital B. Bond once said in 'Tomorrow Never Dies': "[to Carver] You forgot the most important rule of mass media Elliotttt. Give the people what they want!"
Like I said earlier, if it was terrible it'd sell well because Adele is singing it.
So what you are saying is that your not going to buy Skyfallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.

Just to let you know guys. Bond songs are not only rock songs. Bond songs are not only fast tempo, synthesizers and sneering guitars. Bond songs are not only Madonna and Alicia Keys who still need to learn singing.
Bond songs can be slow, jazzy, soulfull and romantic too. Perhaps not the taste of many youngsters in here, but they are part of the Bond music history. And I know sometimes they are not always liked, but these songs are given the opportunity to let them grow on people as well. When in cinema you can wind down from a busy day and actually relax for a bit, while at the same time being awed by all these beautifully conducted orchestra's.
That's why Adele is my friend :-). That's why I am looking much forward to this movie than to the previous film 'Quantum Of Solace'.
I know I know. And maybe I was implying it a bit, I also never said that the slower songs are better. I just am happy to see so much diversity in Bond songs. And this time around it's time for a slower, more orchestral approach :-). A true Bond-ballad with a recognizable melody so to say.
I won't buy the single unless it's not on the album. If I don't like the album then I will buy the single presuming I still like it in a few weeks time when the album is out. You'll have to forgive my drunken ramblings. :)
Yeah. Real low. But maybe he's too damn perfect himself. That's what I'm thinking right now...
Anyway... I've listened the full song now about 5 to 6 times, and I can say this is one of the best. This, YKMN and Goldeneneye are the best songs that the "modern" Bond films have to offer. Three times out of seven is not that bad of a record.
In CR 'M' says "when I knew you were you"
In Skyfall the lyric is (paraphrased)
"I know i'll never be me, without the security, of your loving arms, keeping me from harm, put your hand in my hand (Bond rescues M and they go in the Aston to Scotland)... and we will stand tall... face it all together at skyfall" - mutual respect and 'love'. As has already been mooted too the film might see M's demise so you can forgive the emotive elements here and I do not suggest these as anything more than dramtic sentiments as opposed to anything else (if you know what I mean).
There is something dangerously final about the lyric and real forboding and desperation in what is about to come..it make me really very excited, played loud this song is just sensational (loads of nuianced brass in there too) love it.
My only concern is the lyric "I've drowned and dreamt this moment" please dont let Bond seemingly drown in the river only for the rest of the film to be a flashback/dream sequence! eek.
