Welcome guys, the water's warm, enjoy!
I actually registered quite a while ago when I found the forums after the site was moved, but haven't posted much until very recently and haven't yet introduced myself.
About myself
I'm a 25yo Bond fan from Germantown, MD (DC suburb) and have been hooked on Bond since I was about 11 or 12 when my first exposure to the series was my grandfather's VHS Bond collection of the first 8 Bond films (which I've watched about 20 times each). I eventually watched the rest of the films by recording them on VHS whenever they came on TV, but upgraded to the UE DVD's 5 or so years ago, and yesterday I picked up the Bond 50 Blu-rays from Best Buy. In addition, I have 16 Bond video games (basically all of them Goldeneye and later) including 4 for two different systems. I also have a few other items such as books, unofficial films, posters, etc.
Bond Favorites
Actors: Connery, Brosnan, Craig. (I liked Dalton and Moore were as well)
Films:
Connery- Goldfinger (the gold standard with every piece of the Bond formula)
Lazenby- OHMSS (obviously. loved the movie, not the actor)
Dalton- The Living Daylights
Brosnan- Tomorrow Never Dies
Moore- Moonraker (yeah, yeah I though it was more entertaining than TSWLM)
Craig- hopefully Skyfall (while CR was a great movie it killed the Bond formula)
Video Games: The World is Not Enough N64, Goldeneye remake, Nightfire (console, not PC)
Quote: "Do you expect me to talk? No, Mr. Bond I expect you to die!"
Car: AM DB5 (however, they should stay current and the new Vanquish should have been used instead in Skyfall)
Note: These aren't what I consider to be the "best" of the Bond series, just my personal favorites.
... to MI6 Community.
My name is Gareth, and I'm a writer and game designer. Been doing that professionally for nearly 20 years now. Ian Fleming was the inspiration that initially made me want to be a writer.
My username here is also my Twitter handle, if you're so inclined.
Favorite Bond Novel: Casino Royale.
Favorite Bond Film: A tie -- You Only Live Twice, and Casino Royale.
Favorite Bond: I'm leaning toward Craig, since he's closer to the book Bond. I'd put Connery right up there with him, followed by Dalton, Lazenby, Brosnan and Moore.
Check, check, check and check. You and I will get along quite well it seems. Welcome to MI6!
Hi all,
Im a brazilian journalist working a lot to create an interactive piece to the newspaper website I work for – oglobo.com.br. -- I came here for help: I need to find people who have a panoramic and deep view on four aspects of all movies: girls, vilains and sidekics, gadgets and vehicles. Ill explain what I mean: I don’t want to know which or what is better, favorite, worse etc.... I want to validate special filters about those themes i listed that can be usefull and work as an interesting and curious narrative to those 50 years of movies.
The idea im working at is a sort of a “blind date” to return to the player what would be his/her combination of girl, villain, gadget and car if he had to choose (without seeing or knowing any character) among some aspects. Example of the dinamic:
1- Do you want yr bondgirls to be:
- a good girl
- a bad girl
- a girl who doenst know exactly who she is!
(then he chooses "bad girl’, for example)
2) Now see the bondgirls you have just discarded:
(then he sees very nice edited and big pictures of each girl (good girls and indefined ones) he discarded, all with a nice profile, best quote, the movie, the Bond.
(now he keeps choosing among the bad ones, always “blind”)
3) Do u want this girl to be:
- a secret agent?
- a cientist?
- an artist?
(etc)
(he chooses “agent” and sees the next girls he’ve just discarded
4) Do you want a:
- Black
- Blonde
- Red etc...
5) Do you want one that uses bikini? ….and so on.... until the answer is limited to a single bondgirl.
The same works with the villains, vehicles, gadgtes (do you want a gadget to see better? To hear better? An armament?...and so on)
Well, I think this is a fun and elegant way to tell the story of the movies and its main pillars.
What do you think? Can I count on someone to help me establish those guidelines, so I can go on into this production and know what answer to search and focus on each movie?
Thank you all and please, forgive my terrible English.
Gabi

I've been a Bond film since I was a child and my dad had a lot to do with it, he's a Bond fan too. The first film I had ever watched in cinema was Goldenye in 1995, I was just 4 years old at that time, but I still have memories of it haha.
Really looking forward to be part of this great community!
