I can't wait to hear it within the movie when I see it tomorrow. It's a shame his score is likely to be a one off.
I'd be intigued to see what you think. I personally avoided listening to the soundtrack as I wanted it to sound fresh. As it happened, there were some great moments where I got a buzz but it didn't necessarily leave an impression (good or bad). I'm wondering if I'd had the tracks semi-ingrained in my brain, would it have had more of an impact for me? I'm seeing it a few times again tomorrow so there'll be more time for me to bask in it and I may come out with a different impression. One things for sure, it's great to hear the Bond theme back.
a fresh approach, with subtle Bond themes here and there
and as a strong supporter of David Arnold, that surprised me
Got mine on Friday...
It is in there
No, it's not. The theme isn't on the soundtrack.
- The Bloody Shot
- Voluntary Retirement (reminds me of a Moonraker melodie or Goldfinger)
- New Digs
- Day Wasted
- Brave New World
- Jellyfish
- Komodo Dragon
- Severine
- The Chimera
- Quartermaster
- Tennyson (what a stunning piece of music!!!)
- Enquiry (fantastic build up also!)
- Breadcrumbs
- Skyfall
- She's Mine
- The Moors
- Mother
To my ears it sounds way way more original, thrilling, suspenseful and powerful than most of Arnold's Bondmusic (well, okay, Casino was refreshing for most parts, not during the actionpieces though).
Thumbs up for this soundtrack. I'm listening it every day since I saw Skyfall last Saturday!

I thought you liked Hans Zimmer? :-O :O If Mendes returns, Newman will, too, Zimmer would come on board with Chris Nolan...
Oh, and within the movies the soundtrack works perfectly...
