All great films, though I've never seen 'Some Girls Do.' I think I'm picking up both volumes of 'Kill Bill' from Best Buy on Friday, they're only $4 a piece then.
For many years I've been struggling myself out of what seems to be an incorrect notion that HP is kid's stuff. Having finally accepted the fact that this series might be worth checking out, I have put it on my to do list, as I said. But there's still no hurry. Funny, isn't it, how preconceived notions can dominate one's thoughts so strongly. ;-)

How cinema has changed since Lugosi and even Lee. Vampires seem too humanised which i understand relative to its target audience with regards to the teen market with Twilight. Lugosi and Lee embodied the inhuman aspect of vampire.

To put it mildly, it's my Bible. Rorschach is without a doubt one of the greatest characters ever created, and is a great character to look up to. One who never compromises even when the whole is falling into degradation around him. Granted, his methods aren't exactly subtle or lawful, but I love him and his fight against the evils that plague our world. :)
You are the better man than me. I simply block them out. It is much like the literary Bond. If daddy Ian didn't write it, then it isn't that important to me, as it isn't the creator's vision. I feel the same with the Before Watchmen series. I share Alan's flaming mad reaction to the very idea.

Not bad remake of Alfred Hitchcock's 1935 classic, made by the director/producer team who would later give us the terrific Bulldog Drummond adventure, Deadlier Than The Male. More's quite good in the Robert Donat role while the lovely Taina Elg is somewhat miscast in the Madeleine Carroll role. 1st and final 1/3s work best as it tends to sag in the middle.

This film and Rain Man prove just how incredibly talented Dustin is and always will be.
Great WWII epic! Huge recommend to everyone who enjoys a spirited albeit at times bitter historical re-enactment of a battle that happened for real.
Argo - which follows the unbelievable true story of six Americans that have found shelter with the Canadian ambassador in Iran when the revolution reaches a boiling point. Okay, some facts were distorted for drama but it was still an excellent edge-of-the-seat ride and well worth the admission ticket price.
The Reincarnation of Peter Proud - titular character has recurring nightmares about a woman killing him and goes out to find out if his dreams may be something more. A good forgotten 70s gem with Michael Sazzarin, Jennifer O'Neill and Margot Kidder. Which brings me to whatever happened to the David Fincher remake?
Jackson County Jail - originally billed as a Roger Corman "caged woman" drama, the story follows a young woman who stumbles into a nightmare land of hijacking and humiliation while driving cross-country from California to New York. However, this is so much more than a drive-in exploitation movie with two great performances led by Yvette Mimieux and Tommy Lee Jones that raises it several bars above the genre. The movie definitely deserves a better title than the one it got.
