  • I don't see anything wrong with talking about Bond 24. SF has come out (in most places), it was great, now what can they do for the next one. That's how I see it.

I also don't see anything wrong with talking about the next Bond actor. Craigs not going to be Bond forever so I don't see the problem thinking about who might come after him.

@RC7 Trouble with that is SF was one of the few good things about the 50th. The celebrations we got were pretty poor I thought.

    What I truly wish...

But I may won't see : - Hugh Jackman (yes, he can act and play) as 007. I don't really like Craig, I appreciate him. Especially in "Skyfall", quite in "Casino Royale".

    - the beginning gunbarrel without disappear of the bloody silhouette

    - A MAN singing a classical title song, which would be the title film (like Tom Jones indeed, or even "à la Frank Sinatra" 's Matt Monro) ; Seal maybe ?

    - A new brand car (return of Lotus, Audi R8,...)

    - new AMAZING gadgets (those in Skyfall where cool, more simple and super-efficient in the line of realism) ; "SURPRISE US!" ... not so unrealistic as the invisible car (even though it's used in the armies) neither.

    - an ending credits song, as the super-powerful "Surrender", or romantic as "The Experience of Love".

/i\ - this might me schoking but I dare thinking arab people could me awesome and...up-to-date henchmen. It's just an idea, don't blame me.

Nothing else, for the moment... :D

    1.Traditional gunbarrel at the start
    2.New car
    3."Shaken, not stirred"
4.Chris Nolan, or Matthew Vaughn as the director.
5.Kate Winslet or Rachel Weiz as Bond girls.
6.William Dafoe as a Bond villian.
    7."Pay attention 007" from Q.
8.007 & Moneypenny flirtting with one another.
    9.New gadgets.

I can add : - New countries (remember one of the part's motto The World Is Not Enough) ... like Belgium ! (Brussels, or in Namur's Citadelle which is wonderful, has a Casino and would suit perfectly for a "Goldfinger car chase with Masterson") because it's my country too . :p
    - Bond to wear a white dinner jacket again, whatever in Casino or not... :D (maybe not with Craig)
  • I would really love for Bond to develop a new and different relationship with Fiennes (whom I hope they keep as M and really develop his character). Someone mentioned that M could be almost a "big brother" character and I think that's something that could work instead of the more bossy Lee and Dench M's we've seen in the past.

However, at the heart of the next film and films for the future, I'd love to have the emotional Bond that was really shown in Skyfall. We have seen some of it before with Craig and others but not to this degree: The idea that Bond is having to watch the world burn around him is something that made Skyfall so powerful in my opinion. I found that he was more of a hero than ever before in SF. We even saw a reference to his childhood. I want more of this, a Bond that can be matched and effected by the evil around him.

Something that I'd always thought would be cool to see is a title sequence that is Bond's nightmare, then having him wake up in his bedroom unable to fall back asleep so he gets up, puts on the tux and goes to a casino to gamble, where he is notified he has a message from "Universal Exports" saying that he's needed immediately. Another thing I'd like to see is Bond sleeping with a woman before being called for duty, sort of like TSWLM, except the camera moves to a nightstand to show a family picture of the girl and her husband/family. I think it would be interesting to see them integrate the literary Bond's hobbies of gambling and sleeping with married women.

I'd also like to see Michael Shannon or Phillip Seymour Hoffman as a villain.
  • You know what, I really want to see the return of the memorable henchman. The two fights against Patrice were both pretty cool, but he wasn't memorable in the slightest apart from the fact that his actor comes from the same country as me.

Elvis was at least slightly memorable even though he didn't do anything, because of his haircut. I don't even think he spoke a word throughout the movie, maybe I'm wring.

For me: 1) Mendes directing (then Nolan for the next one after Bond 24)
    2) Bond in bed at the end with the main Bond girl
    3) same team with Mendes, in general, especially Deakins - by God don't let us lose him! He is my new idol.
    4) the main Bond theme throughout the film in subtle ways, appropriately used
    5) another villain as strong as Bardem's Silva (this is a wish list, right?)
    6) Tanner (I like him more and more)
    7) Wright's Felix Leiter
    8) further development of Q
    9) enough interplay with Moneypenny (not too short, please, I like her and Craig together)

Oh goodness, that's enough for going on.

Skyfall missing a litle bit more drama and a good Bond girl. Something to inprove in the next one and also i hope the story, cinematopgraphy/production design inprove. The Skyfall plot whas weak. Expect Bond 24 pick up where QOS end and results of Skyfall. Whyle the focus be on Quantum/water thing, Felix and Camile i hope on 1 or 2 other Bond girls.

I beg to God they don't continue that water plot. There isn't anywhere else to go from it, and it is an insanely uninteresting plot for a Bond film. The way I see it, the villain's scheme for a Bond film should be something that would frighten most people if it happened in the real world. I'm sure many people particularly in North America and Europe wouldn't give a damn if some shady environmentalist was screwing the Bolivan people on their water bill. There needs to be more at stake for a Bond film to really work.

Very good point. I could see what they were trying to do with QoS but if you're going to tackle something as subtle as the manipulation of natural resources, you have to put it front and centre and make it the focus of the whole story. As it happens it's essentially a McGuffin. If they wanted the focus to be revenge they should have had ditched it and had Bond relentlessly pursuing a number of villains where the focus is shifted to the Quantum hierarchy and the characters within, rather than including their specific ventures.

The water plot is something what wil not be big i think and wil turn to the background later on, but Quantum play with/used to get more power and show there ''real'' face.

Well the water thing is gone. We won't be seeing that again.

@battleshipgreygt : Philipp Seymour Hoffman as a villain would be TOP ! He's the one I see as "Le Chiffre's Casino Royal", in books. BTW, I love your ideas. It's deep enough.

    Russel Crowe as a villain.
  • I actually want them to revisit the idea they had in The Man With the Golden Gun, with a master assassin out to kill Bond. Scaramanga was okay, but the movie was pretty mediocre. I really like that idea too much to just abandon. I'd like to see an older actor take that part as well. Maybe that's the role Helen Mirren will hopefully nab.

Hellen Mirren as a master assassin tasked with killing Bond?

Yeah. She's proved that she is capable with weapons (RED), and she's still not old enough to not being able to actually pull it off still. It would certainly be a twist on the old formula.

Have Craig chase someone through a hospital and run through the room with Kate Middleton and her newborn. He eats a grape from the bowl and hops out the window.

The trick, get Kate Middleton to do it :P

But she probably won't be pregnant for the two years so I guess it wouldn't work. Because other than that I'm sure they could pull it off.

    - Sam Mendes, director
    - Alberto Iglesias, composer
    - Roger Deakins, cinematographer
    - Simple gadgets
    - A tough, down-to-business M (seemed like Fiennes will be like this, though)
    - More dangerous creatures

Just thinking, it'd be cool to have Skyfall followed by Riseico (without the e, obviously.)

More dangerous creatures, Komodo's dragoon scene was epic ! Reminding, of course "Dr. No"

A comeback to a wilder, more adventurous plot would be happier to me. (Good God I miss Sir Roger Moore ! :) )

I want the baddie to be young. Like, 20's. And I want him to wear a mask, so that in the third act, when he reveals himself to Bond in his monologue, it's more dramatic.

The twist? He doesn't have a physical deformity. He wears the mask to hide his appearance and identity, and so he can be replaced by someone else if he has to be. He even says to Bond "What were you expecting, Mr Bond? Some sort of deformity? Thankfully not!"

It'd be a nice spin on things, and could make for a creepy, in the 'shadows' villain.
  • Felix Leiter, Anthony Hopkins (as Blofeld), Garden of Death, Sombre ending, Bond's speech on good and evil from the novel of Casino Royale, South Africa as a location, Christopher Nolan

It's a good idea but they'd have to get the mask right. Can't be too superheroey.

Bond's speech on good and evil from the novel of Casino Royale

This was already used in Casino Royale (2006) except spoken by Mathis.

Yea, I was thinking something white. Like this:

But like I said, he doesn't wear it constantly. He takes it off and does his monologue and Bond comments on how he expected a deformity.
