Who would win a fight between Craig Bond/Lazenby Bond and Connery Bond

Thought this would be a bit of fun.

Imagine if these three very physical Bond actors were in a ring together. Who would win?

    This isn't news @BAIN123.

To be fair though, you need to include Moore, Dalton and Brosnan.

Sorry, I didn't mean to include it as such.

Well, we'll assume that they were taken out in this order:

    Moore 1st
    Brosnan 2nd
    Dalton 3rd

That would leave Connery, Craig and Lazenby.

The defeats in this order : Moore, Brosnan, Dalton, Connery, Lazenby, Craig (winner).

Possibly haha. But then again we have FRWL Connery.

  • I suspect GL would just win by a kick in the 00s against SC.
  • Hmm...FRWL Connery or DAF Connery?

I'm certain that Craig would prevail as his Bond is shown to be a highly competent, extremely well-trained agent (which I think is a necessity in this day and age). That even more than the shape he's in would be in his favour, all well as his tenacity and refusal to give up.

As for second place, that's hard to say. Assuming Connery is in his prime (only fair as Laz and Craig are, even though Craig is ten years older that Laz and Connery when they started!) I rewatched the famous FRWL train fight. Connery's got great brute strength, but so does Laz. But I think that the flurry of fists and kicks that Laz would unleash would overwhelm him. Hard to say as Connery is my favourite, but there you have it.

I think we're all agreed that Moore wouldn't even be a factor... ;-)

    Fistfight starts!

Connery and Craig get into it, it's a clash of titans.
Dalton and Lazenby start throwing haymakers.
Moore looks at Brosnan, smiles, offers to shake his hand and resolve this conflict in a gentlemanly fashion. Brosnan smiles and offers his hand back, as he receives a knee in the crotch. Brosnan is down.
Moore then looks at the crows, decides he can take on the smaller Craig. He goes behind him and starts holding his arms. Craig headbutts him with the back of his head. Moore is down. Craig is stunned. Lazenby and Dalton are still in a fierce battle, no clear advantage, seeing Craig down though they more to finish him. That's when Connery karate chops Dalton in the back of the neck. Dalton is down. Lazenby moves in on Craig who suddenly jumps on him with a front choke. Lazenby can't counter the surprise attack, Lazenby is down.
Connery and Craig look at each other, Connery offers to exchange blows one after the other. Craig throws a vicious right to Connery's mouth. Connery stumbles, but survives. Connery then takes a few steps, karate chops Craig in the neck. Craig is down!

    Connery > Craig > Lazenby > Dalton > Moore > Brosnan

Between Connery Bond, Lazenby Bond and Craig Bond? I believe that The Craig Bond would be the winner

    BUT.

If we're talking about the actors themselves, then good god, Lazenby would own them ALL!

The question remains... Who from 83 years old Moore and 80 years old Connery will win the Grumpy Grandpa's fight ??

Look theres no question Moore will ALWAYS lose first in a fight (no disrespect to the guy but he was never a particularly convincing fighter). Brosnan may soon follow but at least he could throw himself around more and move quicker. I don't believe for a second Moore could have beaten Brosnan in the ring (even in his younger days) ;)

Between NSNA Connery and AVTAK Moore on the other hand, Connery will throw his urine specimen at Moore who will then narrowly miss it. Moore will then retaliate and punch Connery in the face. Connery will then lift Moore up by the waste but Moore will get in a cheeky jab in the ribs. Connery goes down, Moore wins, gets his Viagra and goes to bed with Tanya Roberts ;)

*In reality Connery would probably win but Moore deserves to.

Pussfella wrestles alligators and Dr.No Bond dispatched his jacksy with considerable ease. If you adjust Connery's physicality to contemporary times, he'd be a complete beast and what he did back in the 60s was brutal enough. Connery wins this and snakes a piece of fruit before quipping and making his exit.

Daniel Craig wins this argument in my opinion. Take a look:

Furthermore, this Actor even does some of his stunts, and most of all he's an elitist in his field. In my opinion, he's overqualified for the Bond Franchise and I would actually want to see him in Epic Movies that would show his best acting talent.

Moore would never be that dirty towards a fellow Bond. He wouldn't have it in him ;)

You make an excellent point. I remember back in 1982/83 when we were watching old Bond films on TV all the time Connery was considered an incredibly fit guy (this was just before the heyday of Rambo and all the Schwartzenegger movies). A friend of mine recently watched either DN or FRWL for the first time in years and the first thing he said was that he couldn't believe how "normal" Connery looked. But at the time he was indeed considered "a beast".

It's always interesting how the loss of context changes the way we view old movies.

He did a similar thing in TMWTGG, fake head salute & smack in the face ;)

Connery-Bond would let the other two fight with each other, while he himself disappears with the girl.

The head salute was against some random martial arts student, not a fellow gent.

The slap wasn't that convincing with Moore doing it. (OMG Moore the woman beater :O ) ;)

Moore was more convincing in that scene than Brosnan in his entire tenure... ;-)

No he wasn't. You want to see a more effective "tougher" Moore moment watch the car kick in FYEO.

I'm sorry ?? Moore in TMWTGG was one of the most Fleming-esque performance in the franchise. I found the scene very convincing. Yes, the car dispatch in FYEO was great too... But TMWTGG features the best Bond performance of the franchise... thus making it the best film in the franchise !!'

No no, Connery would break his hand on Craig´s neck. Craig would then get red eyes, punch Connery again and knock him out with a chair. Then he would run away from M, who would try to lecture him on this bad behaviour.
Moore would never be that dirty towards a fellow Bond. He wouldn't have it in him ;)
Oh yes he would. He always was the nastiest of them all, acting like the true gentleman, but when it got nasty, he got nasty.

  • edited July 2011 Posts: 11,189
It may have been one of the more "Fleming-esque" performances but that wasn't Moore's style. It felt like he was trying too hard to be nasty. I don't believe for a moment that Moore himself would actually do that. Even TSWLM director Lewis Gilbert said later they were trying to turn MWTGG Bond into Sean Connery.
  • edited July 2011 Posts: 5,767
Gilbert Schmilbert. Of course Moore wouldn´t do that, and Moore flinched whenever he fired a pistol. But Moore-Bond was one tough mother. And Moore´s bitching around when Amasova tried to interfere was much more gentleman-unlike than any arm-breaking.
