I didn't know it hit $23 million already. Of course, someone will be along shortly to shoot you down and tell you you're wrong. I don't care anymore - I'll check the final numbers in a few weeks, and let this thread die down.

Also interesting to notice....'Skyfall' is bound to enter the TOP 10 of the 'All Time Worldwide Box Office Grosses Ever'-list from BoxOfficeMojo.com. 'Alice In Wonderland' ($1,024.3 Billion) and 'Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace' ($1,027.0 Billion) will be beaten by 'Skyfall' upcoming week.
Next stop for 'Skyfall' to become the first ever Bond film to enter this exclusive TOP 10 ranking will be 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' ($1,043.9 Billion). Then the following stops until 'The Dark Knight Rises' ($1,081.0 Billion) will be 'Toy Story 3' ($1,063.2 Billion) and 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest' ($1,066.2 Billion).

Wow! :O Well i for one am over the moon about the success of this movie! Not only for the producers and Daniel himself ofcourse. But for the charactor of Bond himself! Countless film review shows, Newspapers, Pundits......etc. Used to say bye Bond as we have a more realistic hero now, alot grittier and all the rest of it. Whether it's Bourne, MI and so on. Skyfall is a big one in the eye for all of them! And i for one could not be prouder! :D

It's not about competitions, it's about displaying Bond's success. It's called putting it in context. :)
I wish it had stuck around a few more weeks in the US, but I know that more films are releasing since January is now upon us. It may still be out in the US, I just know that my local Alamo Drafthouse has already pulled it.
@thelivingroyale, so everyone is saying that SF is currently the 8th highest grossing film of all time now, or am I misunderstanding you all? If so: wow.
Also, one more Bond-related argument to give another example why I think reasoning in terms of global rankings is meaningless :
Here lots of people write "Don't bring back Spectre or Blofeld, Austin Powers killed it".
But, in fact :
In the USA, in 1997, Powers did almost twice more than Bond, right. Outside ? It did 2 times less.
In the USA, in 2002, Powers did more than Bond ok. Outside the USA it did 4 times less.
So Powers is clearly IMO a Americano-centric phenomenom. Can we really say it killed Blofeld for the franchise as a whole ?
If you want to be big in China, an "apolitical terrorist" big baddie that is not communist can be interesting for the producers to please most of the markets :)
I am not promoting BO competition. @Samuel said it could make 7th place, and I just added that if it happen then it would ironically be at 007th place, fitting for the series. But whether it is 13th, 10th, 7th or whathaveyou, I will be no less proud of it for not banking more or for trumping Batman. That's not important. It doesn't matter to me, as I am over the roof at all the success it has, and happy that everything has gone swimmingly.
Well, TDKR opens in China a few weeks after SKYFALL, so any lead may be short lived. I'm willing to bet there is more of an audience for Bond in China than there is for Batman though.
