I don't pay as much attention as I should when it comes to who directed what, so it was a struggle to list seven:

Martin Campbell + Bond = GoldenRoyale.
    Ridley Scott- An impressive resume.
Chris Nolan- Batman aside, Memento and The Prestige have me sold.
Steven Spielberg- Well, because it's Spielberg.
Martin Scorsese- I recently watched 'The Departed'. Awesome film there.
Matthew Vaughn- Kickass, Layer Cake. That's good enough for me.
David Fincher- Great resume, plus look at the list of music videos he's directed. I'm sure he and Daniel Klienman would ensure a killer title sequence- not that the latter needs any help achieving that by himself.

I'm not saying it would be a good idea, but I'd also be curious to see QT's take on Bond. Perhaps Ben Affleck will make the list when I see Argo. Imagine what a Paul Verhoeven Bond film would look like. The gunbarrel sequence alone would be bloodier than the whole of LTK and QoS combined! :))

Yes, Afleck made my list because of Argo; I hope you get to see it soon, @QBranch.
Christopher Nolan for me was based on Inception more than any other of his films, although I like his overall style very much.

@0013, I didn't think about Cuaron. 'Children of Men' was excellent, and if he helmed a Bond film with a big fight sequence/shootout, I would love to see one of those long shots again, just like the finale.

Well I think about him because of Prisoner of Azkaban... a little embarrasing that I don't know more movies by him so it' good to have your reference.
And I put Polanski as I read one time an essay about a "parallel Bond universe" in which Polanksi made a dark and depressing outing of The Hildebrand Rarity and that idea have stuck in my mind since then.

    I FORGOT THAT ONE!

Finding Forrester is probably his best performance ever. Even above Bond. That's my #1 and I'm ashamed I forgot to include it.

I agree that McTiernan could do a very good job as a Bond director.
And I'll add Phillip Noyce to my list, too! :)

    Is he still in prison?

Man, I totally forgot about that! He got one year, and it seems he started serving it in August of last year finally (I just quickly checked the internet) but maybe someone else knows more about that.

Tiny advice to all: Don't lie to the FBI. Just don't.

I've just done a Wikipedia search (so a 50% chance it's wrong!). He's due for release in April 2014.

Okay, then. Hope he is all right. Prison - no matter how special, minimum security, etc. it may be (and I don't have any idea what kind of facility he is in) - will do a number on your psyche and soul.

Yes, this film is one of his best perf as an actor, if not the best (I could switch it to 1st on my list). You don't have to feel ashamed, you just forgot it among a large list of great films, that's it. ;)

Hmmm... Admittedly, I haven't seen a lot of the above, (*ducks*) but here we go:

    M:I
    Austin Danger Powers
    Get Smart
Inspector Gadget (see Dr. Claw and his Mad Cat)
    Indiana Jones, anyone?

This would be my list as well, except that I'd have Indiana Jones at the top spot. Not sure if you ordered them specifically or not.
Also, let's not forget that Gadget was voiced by Maxwell Smart himself, Mr. Don Adams.

I would love to put Harry Palmer, but I haven't seen them yet. I need to rectify that!

I agree, Indy would be on top. I don't know why I didn't put them in order, but I think it'd go something like this:

    Indy
    Get Smart
    M:I
    Austin Powers
    Inspector Gadget

Having watched Get Smart and Gadget back in the late 80s, I'm still amazed I only realized this a few years back! :-O

5 - Hit Jaws a second time and discover it really hurts, a second time.

4 - Say no to Bibi. (My God, Bond, what were you thinking?)

3 - Yell like Tarzan when you're trying to escape.

2 - Leave Drax alive after he's attempted - twice! - to kill you on his own premises. You realise you have a licence to kill, don't you?

    1 - Sleep with MayDay.

    1. Ride in that yellow car from FYEO.
    2. Sleep with Mayday.
    3. Leave Luigi on his own.
    4. Let Borstas kick me in the face on a mountain!
    5. Let Bibi talk to me.

    5. "Women drivers... try reverse, that's BACKWARDS... should I drive?" What a douchebag moment haha. I would never be that much of a dick.

    4. Paid any mind to Bibi.

    3. Tarzan scream.

    2. Think the teeth are the optimal place to punch Jaws in.

    1. Mayday... oh god...

    5) Force Goodnight into the closet when Ms. Anders arrived. Menage a trois anyone?

    4) Climb that mountain up to St. Cyril's. Heights aren't my thing.

    3) Jump onto the backs of crocodiles. I guess I wouldn't make a good Bond.

    2) Grabbing on to the cable of the blimp as it's taking off. Again, the heights.

    1) Jumping onto an airplane as it's taking off. Yeah, I would have been like, "See ya later Octopussy!"

    That he's 50 and she's 15?

Also, the snark in the car was unscripted. I don't know if he was ad libbing or if that was actually how he felt, but either way it's funny.

    Anyway,

    5. Sleep with May Day.

    4. Know my own theme song.

    3. Tell a tiger, "Sit-ah!"

    2. Tarzan yell.

    1. Continue being a secret agent until I'm almost 60.

I'm sure it would have been legal, @Soundofthesinners. ;-)
