At the end of the day, only MR, NSNA & AVTAK are Bonds I avoid. ALL others have their place with me given the proper mood.
And my mood just seems to swing towards DN, YOLT, TLD, LTK, GE, TND & QOS most frequently. ;)

I realize I only rated the films before, so here is an attempt at a ranking, not set in stone.

    1 OHMSS
    2GF
    3DN
    4FRWL
    5CR06
    6SF
    7FYEO
    8TSWLM
    9TLD
    10LTK
    11QOS
    12TB
    13YOLT
    14LALD
    15NSNA
    16OP
    17DAF
    18AVTAK
    19TMWTGG
    20MR
    21GE
    22TND
    23TWINE
    24CR54
    25CR67
    26DAD

CR67 above DAD,you say? Yes, both are abysmal and as enjoyable as cleaning the shower drain, but
CR has Bacharach and The Look of Love, DAD has Arnold s weakest score and Verity s Sigmund Freud, Analyze This.
CR has Allen with a couple of witty lines, Andress,Welles,Niven, Sellers. DAD has fat Brosnan, Robocop, Berry in her second worst role and Madsen in his worst.
CR has better Moneypenny scenes for crying out loud.
CR knows it is a stupid and bizarre attempt at comedy, DAD is an official entry.
If I must watch one of these again I will (pretend to) watch CR67,thank you.
DAD has a good MTS, that is all. And John Cleese.

@fjdinardo Glad to see more love for AVTAK!

The movie is so high on my list is mainly because of Christopher Walkens tremendous acting as Max Zorin.

I'm okay with the CR GB sequence. At least it was near the beginning of the film. Plus, I like how it creatively tied into the story. I'm a huge supporter of getting the GB sequence back at the beginning but I would never detract points from the awesomeness that is CR for not having it.

In CR the gun barrel is perfect for being a reboot, in my opinion.

They're free to experiment with the gunbarrel. In CR it was amazingly done and I'd go as far to say the best in the series. In Skyfall Mendes made a case for why it didn't work for the beginning. Plus it was the 50th anniversary and I kind of like it ending the film. So taking a whole point off CR and SF for just the gunbarrel is silly to me. Thrash the QoS one all you want, though.

You won't even admit to criticism of the ending gunbarrel? I don't hate QoS either, but the gunbarrel was terrible.

I just hate breaking tradition. At first when I saw CR in theaters I was really pissed about the gunbarrel and but I watch CR a 2nd time I was ok with it because it tied in with the story

    Well, here's what I think are absolute stinkers in the series;

Moonraker-Octopussy-A View To A Kill-The World Is Not Enough-Die Another Day.

    Here's what I think are the cream of the crop;

All of Connery's bar DAF. Live and Let Die-The Man With the Golden Gun-Goldeneye-Skyfall.
  • I take a degree of offense when someone berates Moonraker or Octopussy or TWINE and goes as far to call them 'stinkers', as they are in fact all very good and entertaining releases, but it's all about opinions @davids

You redeemed yourself though with the observation that LALD is a great release, and even TMWTGG, with it

It is quite a leap, yes. Goldfinger's rating continues to drop markedly, unfortunately. I fear that my next viewing will do nothing but drop it under LALD.

Updated rankings after my last Bondathon. Fascinating how the list always changes...

    1) From Russia With Love
    2) Casino Royale
    3) Dr. No
    4) Skyfall
    5) On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    6) The Spy Who Loved Me
    7) Goldfinger
    8) For Your Eyes Only
    9) GoldenEye
    10) The Living Daylights
    11) Live And Let Die
    12) Moonraker
    13) Octopussy
    14) You Only Live Twice
    15) Quantum of Solace
    16) Thunderball
    17) A View To A Kill
    18) The World Is Not Enough
    19) Licence To Kill
    20) Diamonds Are Forever
    21) Tomorrow Never Dies
    22) The Man With The Golden Gun
    23) Die Another Day

This was the first time that I have seen Skyfall since last year in the theater. To my surprise I enjoyed it more this time around. Plot holes aside, it really is a breathtaking piece of cinema. I expect it to move down a bit on subsequent viewings though.

Dr. No is truly the wildcard of the series for me. Depending on my mood on any given day, it could wind up just about anywhere in the rankings. Needless to say I fell in love with it all over again and it catapulted up the list. Please accept my apologies for calling it overrated in other threads.

Other than that there were no major changes to report this time around. I think that I need a little break from these films now.
