It wouldn't make sense to stick to the older gun models because it just doesn't fit in with the modern times of the new Bond films.

Look at the Beretta M92F or M1911. Older weapons still being used to this day.

Bond without his PPK is like Superman without his powers.
  • @Murdock. You're right. It's not like the PPK would look out of place in the movies. I personally think that it has a classic and timeless look. It doesn't look obsolete or something. I mean hell, I know some people still prefer to carry the PPK as a conceal carry .

Well look at QoS. Despite what many said about the film, I don't remember hearing any criticism towards Bond reverting back to the PPK after nearly a decade hiatus. Actually, lately I notice more criticism for the fairly modern P99, with comments such as 'it's too big and clunky in Craig's hands'.

And it seems that every second movie or show I watch these days features someone running around with a PPK. I think it will remain relevant at least until laser pistols become the standard issue sidearm- and seeing that in a Bond film is still a long way off yet ;)

I will admit, It threw me off a bit because Craig had a PPK in promotional pictures from Casino Royale but never used it. he used the P99. Then suddenly in QoS he had the PPK. I didn't mind, but It threw me off a bit.

And in the next Jones film let's give him a web-shooter instead of a whip.
    ;)

Yep! I was sent to a gun store to drop off some forms and I saw it there under the glass- I knew I had to come back later and get it!

I have 3 airsoft PPK's, but their stopping power is a bit limited...

Nice work, Master! You'll have to upload some pics for us (and of course, Bondian poses) once it arrives. Put them here in the 'your PPK' thread:

I saw the latest pictures that James Bond has reunite with the update Walther, some people say the P99 again but I think it might the PPX. Well I just glad he using a Walther that all I got to say. I said in my one thread 007 is to stick with The Walther arms brand.

In Bond 25 only want James Bond using Walther & & maybe his Allies. the Villains Glock, Beretta or Streyr Arms that was used in Skyfall.

It would be neat (if unrealistic) to have the allies all use one brand, and the villains another - it's not like the general audience would notice.

Personally I want to see Bond use another entirely custom made gun, i.e. shark gun etc. Something you can't buy in the real world and/or modify. Hoping Craig-Bond gets a good sniping scene this time.

A custom gun would be a welcome return. Along with a sniping scene from Craig.
Something I'd like to see from his Bond.

Bond 26 update the Walther PPK back to P99 or a new Walther Pistol. Put the classic PPK deactivated

I love the P99 but it has such a strong association with Brozza's era, particularly TND. It is his Walther, like the WA2000 was Dalton's. I would rather see that identity preserved. Give the new Bond his own Walther model, or since there's talk of 'reinvention', back to the Beretta from the novels.

Which Walther we get for B26 I guess comes down to the story/production/crew, e.g. Craig found the P99 too large, and thus returned to the PPK for QOS.

How fun would it be to see Bond pick up an LP-53 - not as his main sidearm, but used in just one scene.

Turns out many of the SPECTRE agents in Matera as well as Safin's men used Berettas, with Safin himself carrying one. Most others were HKs.

It was awesome to see Paloma carry a PPK/S with stainless slide.
