    I'm thinking it is going to be another Fleming title; the other two Craig films are Fleming titles and I really see EON continuing the tradition. Seeing how there are no more novels to use, only leaves the short stories remain.

    Okay, so the short stories that haven't been used so far are:

    - 007 in New York
    - Risico
    - Property of a Lady
    - The Hildebrand Rarity

    '007 in New York' is automatically tossed out for what I believe to an obvious reason: it is a terrible title for a film.

    I also just don't see 'The Hildebrand Rarity' being used either; for those of you who read the short story, you'll know that the Hildebrand Rarity as being a rare fish...and while filmmakers can (of course) change the meaning, I'm not sure where they'd go. But hey, who knows.

    Then there is 'Property of a Lady'; when Rachel Weisz's name was being tossed about as a villain I was convinced that POAL would be chosen, but now that her name is out the window and in addition to Bardem and Fiennes being hinted at villains, I feel that Property of a Lady would be an irrelevant title...that is unless EON does in fact go with a female main villain. Personally, I think Property of a Lady is a fine title.

    Finally, there is Risico. I do admittedly like the sound of it; although people's reactions to it may be similar to QOS. I'm sure many people's would immediately, "What the hell is a Risico?" (And you can tell them it means "a risk involving danger"). Although, does anyone know what language that is?

    Based on the translation (which is spot on for a Bond film), my vote would be for 'Risico'. It has a ring to it, and could easily be said by a character in the native language it's meant to be spoken in. (Bardem?)

    Of course Bond 23 is going to be a Fleming title, at least imo. But do you have any titles you can think of? I think thats what the post is going for more.

    But your connections b/w Bardem and Risico are hopefully spot on, I love the actor and the title.

    And yeah, the connection with Bardem and 'Risico' for sure seems like a legitimate possibility. My personal title? Oh how about...

    Has a ring to it, I guess. ;-) You could even do '007 Seconds to Kill'! What a marketing dream! I've had that one up my sleeve for awhile...but I've also always thought it sounded a bit like 'A View to a Kill'...

    "Risico" is supposed to be Italian for "risk". However, it's not actually Italian - Fleming got it wrong. It's a lot closer to Dutch, but good luck selling Javier Bardem as a Dutchman.

    "Risico" is supposed to be Italian for "risk". However, it's not actually Italian - Fleming got it wrong. It's a lot closer to Dutch, but good luck selling Javier Bardem as a Dutchman.
    Haha, I laughed when I read that last part. Yeah, I was thinking it sounded Italian (in that case Bardem would've worked), but Dutch??? Well....maybe with some CGI and prosthetics... ;-)

    How would Computer-Generated Images change Bardem's voice? And why would you want to change his voice - which is perhaps one of the best in Hollywood - for the sake of using a hitherto-unused Fleming title? It sounds like one hell of a compromise.

    Now that I know what Risico means, I have further grown to love it. It feels right for a Craig Bond film.
  • Definitely want a Fleming title - 'Property..' and 'Risico' seem the front-runners. Both fine IMHO

    'Risico' carries a bit of baggage with the original meaning ('risk'). Personally, I'd pronounce it 'Ri-seeko' and leave it as an enigamtic Flemnig word along the lines of 'Octopussy' - it could be a name of anyone or anything.

    Must say, with talk of 'classic' Bond and DC saying he'll be well 'suave' this time out , the signs of a grand epic Bond adventure continue to increase. Very excited....

    Okay, I've just come up with a title that I really like. It's not from Fleming, but I think it would really work. It's taken from TS Eliot's The Hollow Men:

    IN DELIBERATE DISGUISES

    It comes from the second stanza of the poem:
    Let me also wear
    Such deliberate disguises
    Rat's coat, crowskin, crossed staves
    In a field
    Behaving as the wind behaves
    The poem is mostly concerned with Europe in the aftermath of World War I; this particular part invokes the sense of a battlefield when the war is over.

    The reason why I like "In Deliberate Disguises" as a title is because of the wordplay involved. "In Deliberate Disguises" suggests a very conscious choice to disguise oneself. "Deliberate" means something that is carefully considered and done on purpose; it speaks to intention. But, on the other hand, "indeliberate" is the exact opposite - not unintnetional, but certainly something done without forethought. So, IN DELIBERATE DISGUISES could also be read as INDELIBERATE DISGUISES, and therefore mean both. It also has that questioning sense about it, promting audiences to ask who is in disguise and why are they doing it deliberately?

    There are plenty of good Fleming chapter titles out there from the books, but there are also some very bad one's like The Undertakers Wind, Midnight Among The Worms and Death of a Pelican from Live And Let Die. :-))

    double or nothing (use "killer" by the hoosiers, i think that would work well)

    risico/property of a lady (get joss stone or lady gaga or susan boyle or somebody to do a classic style bond song since it'll be the anniversary, why not bring back shirley bassey)

    brokenclaw (a non flemming bond book, base it loosley on the book or just keep the villian "brokenclaw lee" and give it a whole new story. lee is chinese so give the theme a mystical feel maybe showing lots of dragons in the opening)

    My point was that as it has been seen/mentioned in a previous film, it is unlikely to be used again.

    However, The World is not Enough was Bonds family moto in OHMSS and used as a title, so just because it's been seen before might not mean it is not used.

    I personally think Bond 23 will be Risico seen as we are using the more oddly titled Fleming short stories.
