So do we think the bulldog is going to make an appearance in Spectre or are they just teasing us?

Yes, we definitely think it'll make an appearance

That "note from the past"? Surely it must be hidden inside the bulldog.

wow I love the first screen shot it looks really cool....

So filming on Spectre has begun... I can't believe we are already on the fourth Craig film it really feels like just yesterday he was announced for casino royale.

Yes, I'd back this theory 100%. What the note says is up for debate.

Guys you are putting me nervous!! is this really genuine?? this would be a perfect, if not "you have made me a very unhappy man"
  • its great to see the first clapperboard pic! I guess from this we can certainly say that the bulldog from SF makes an appearance! I was just hoping they were going to tease us with a clapperboard shot containing a bowl of catfood in the background! :-)

So happy that the clapperboard pics are back! They provide great discussion material for us fans, without spoiling anything for casual moviegoers. I LOVE that the bulldog makes another appearance! It is already an iconic artifact of the Bond franchise and it seems like Spectre will further strenghten its place in the series. Also, it appears broken and glued together... what could M have hidden inside it?

By the way, does anyone remember how often they uploaded clapperboard pics during the production of Skyfall?

This isn't the first time Hoyte van Hoytema is filming a porcelain bulldog. A screenshot from Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy: http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/jamesbond/images/b/b7/Royal_Doulton_bulldog_ornaments_in_Control's_office.jpg

Never mind that comment. The bulldog's head had already been glued together after the explosion at the MI6 headquaters.

Could M have taken the opportunity, to put something in it, after the explosion
But before she glued it back together ? :))

Here's the SF thread from last time so comparisons can be made over the weeks/months:

As @Zekidk says, this scene would fit in just after the main titles in SF.

They're back and it feels good. I hope the Bulldog is on Bond's desk. I would love a quick scene of him doing sone paperwork.

It would be great if the opening scene after the main titles is of the Buldog on the table in closeup.

Then the camera moves back and we notice that we're in Bond's apartment. A throwback to LALD.....then something happens in that scene to cause the bulldog to fall on the floor when all is revealed.

    @Bondjames

Hasn't that become a cliché? Sounds a lot like what happens with the model ship in Spielberg's 'Tintin'.

That's true. It does have a cliche element to it no doubt. It depends on how it's done of course. I just want an excuse to see Bond in his home again.

Seeing that i also wondered if we may see Bond at his desk? Abit like dear old George in OHMSS!

The question is, does the bulldog have any relevance to the story or is it a prop in, for example, Bond's apartment and they are teasing us?

    Maybe it's Moneypenny's desk...

Ah, ah, everyone's waiting for a cat, and then there's a bulldog ?!

Hm, I don't expect anything hapenning "randomly" in this movie. SF was very "in your face" with its themes, you could almost see the dotted lines on the screen to describe the link between what was said and shown :)
  • Why is the bulldog broken? Didn't it survive the explosion in Skyfall?

As stated in another thread, there were cracks in it when it was shown on M's desk during Bond's evaluation, but they weren't that noticeable. I would guess based on the lighting and camera angle, the cracks are just more noticeable in this picture. But I'm sure it's the same dog.

Ha anyone else noticed that the Spectre logo looks a bit different on the clapperboard than the one unveiled at the press event? Hopefully the one unveiled last Thursday is the final version as it looked better than this one.
