  • Lana del Rey would be a good choice, I'd like to see London Grammar give it a go as well.

Ah you mean with the name SPECTRE hammered out instead of MASTER after the refrain :-)?

Now more than before we need a song with teeth, something that will grab your nuts instantly although, somewhat subtle and mysterious yet undeniably sinister but somewhat ethereal. Something seemingly calm but that can swell and shift just as an amorphous secret organization with "people everywhere" would.

I don't care for the title too much so they can do with or without it in the lyrics, although it is catchy-ish. I don't see them not using it.

I too hope the Sam Smith rumors are false, for the aforementioned reasons. But I would also hate that they thawed back some dinosaur just for the sake of another (br)assy John Barry ripoff. We've had enough of that. I don't even want Adele back. (Mind you, I like my diversity in between films). There are a lot of options and good artists out there.

I must say that'd be a good choice. Please let it be him or Lana Del Rey

I would love the Arctic Monkeys, although I would kill for something like Awolnation's Sail, or the adapted version of The Immigrant Song for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Michael Buble with a classic jazzy feel would be really amazing.
I love Sam Smith but he just seems so mainstream not sure if it would really appeal.
I would rather have Lorde than Sam Smith.

Here's a suggestion - American singer John Legend:

You may need to click 'watch on Youtube' to hear the song.

Great voice. I think he'd be a cool Bond theme singer. :)
  • Has anyone mentioned Swedish singer Tove Lo yet? Her voice is amazing she is just popular enough but not too big and she's not bad on the eyes ;)

Having watched the outstanding Thunderball yesterday, I am all for Tom Jones (or someone like him). We're long overdue for a crooner.

Elsewhere I suggested the title SPECTRE could well pose some challenges for a lyricist--lots of ERs and Ors to rhyme.
Clearly the title harkens back to THUNDERBALL. My hope is this next song is in the style of FRWL, TB, LTK, or CR. Instead of going with a vocal, maybe they will go the OHMSS route and not even attempt to include the word SPECTRE in the lyrics.

You know what would be great, bringing Tom Jones back to sing the theme. He can still bring it.

Yes he can, actually. :) I think that would be cool! I think we are getting Adele again, though. Which I truly don't mind. Definitely do NOT have to have the word "spectre" in the title song's name.

There is a lot of talent out there that could do it - Emerald, Faith, Dogett, Del Ray etc...
But @Kerim's idea of TOM JONES is absolutely genius.
He is a fabulous vocalist who can handle just about anything and frankly, the last great Bond song was 'Live and Let Die' everything since then, including 'SKYFALL' has been mush. We need Tom to bring us something great. Would he be up for it? That's another question.

Paloma Faith would be great. Or Pierce Brosnan, that would be amazing.

I find it hard to believe we don't have a real clue yet who this is. They are so good at keeping this under wraps this time! But I want to know. Now. :D
  • I actually have some inside knowledge about this, I can't say at the moment, but you will NOT be disappointed!
