Oh yeah definitely. I have the Bond 50 Set, and all of the individual Case Blurays. So in effect 2 copies of each film except for NSNA and Skyfall.

That sucks about the exclusion of the horse jump scene in the UK version. I guess I have the US version because mine contains the scene. I have CR'67 and CR'54 on DVD and haven't upgraded either one to Blu-ray yet. If I find it for super cheap I might get it someday. I just didn't feel like shelling out anything over $10 bucks since I don't enjoy watching CR67 much.

I have totally digitized my Bond Bluray Collection onto my computer so that I can play any of the films with a click of the button without loading discs. The files are huge, but you don't lose any quality that way. I also have Skyfall on Vudu, but I really don't have the bandwidth to constantly stream HD movies so I went with the other option of my harddrive.
That sounds like the way to go. I always enjoyed having a laptop and some dvds with me while travelling, but with the increasing amount of brs on my shelf, the number of discs my laptop disc drive will play gets smaller.

The only downside is you need at least 2TB of space for all of these files and to allow for future films, etc. The actual movie files are roughly 30-40GB a piece. That's not counting special features if you want them too. The good thing is that harddrives are fairly cheap now.

Something I haven´t thought about yet: What tools do you use to digitize blu rays? I thought they don´t play on computer disc drives?

I have a bunch of old home videos on DVD's that I wanted to digitize. I downloaded a free program called HandBrake that ripped the disc's contents to my hard drive. Its a piece of cake. Its the same principle for Blu-Rays but of course your computer needs a Blu-Ray compatible disc drive if you want to do this with Blu-Rays.

And as Ed83 mentioned, the files are VERY large. That's why I prefer owning digital copies through services like VUDU and Flixster where you stream your movies from the web like Netflix. Of course the downside with this is you need an internet connection to stream them so if your stranded in a Chilean mine with an iPad and a hankering for a Bond film, you're out of luck. With that said, these services do allow you to download your digital collection to your hard drive. So if you're going on long flight, you can download the movies ahead of time and watch them without an internet connection whenever you like.

AnyDvD HD for ripping to harddrive. TSMuxer for reauthoring (maybe stripping away foreign language and subs). Then TotalMediaTheatre 6 for playing the files from the harddrive. I have my 200+ Blu-Ray collection stored on 6TB.

Makemkv is what I use to save to harddrive. Vudu is an option, but unfortunately you will have to pay a $2 fee to get the HDX version if you have all of the blurays. If you don't already have the blurays you will pay $13.99 a piece unless you catch a sale. While the quality is nice on VUDU, I don't think it completely matches bluray by any means. For me it comes down to having the best quality while not having to waste valuable bandwidth or load a disc every time I want to watch the film. I prefer not to take a chance scratching the discs and to have access to play the films even if my internet connection goes out.

When I use Makemkv I take the English audio tracks, and strip out the Spanish, French etc., like Zekidk said. Make sure you check the other English tracks if you want to have the ability to listen to the audio commentary.

After trying most of the video players out there, I have found that MPC-HC works the best for me. It is free, just google it. I get no stutters out of 1080p playback while I run games, tons of internet tabs, and other programs at the same time. It's very simple to use and has tons of options if you need to customize it to your liking.

A little late to the party here, please forgive if this has already been discussed....but is anyone else upset with Sony for halting the HD upgrades of the Patrick Macnee narrated documentaries when they took over the catalog in the middle of the blu-ray releases? They did such an awesome job reworking them with high resolution stills/photos, cutting in HD footage from the films, and doing top notch up-sampling on everything else. Why did they have to kill that? The SD versions on BD actually look worse than just digging out the DVDs.

As much as I'd HATE to give them (even) more money, if they ever updated the balance I would have to rebuy the handful of titles which got shortchanged.

By the way, if anyone who bought the 50th anniversary set would like to transfer them to jewel cases, I did a custom cover set featuring original poster art over at euphoricfx. Because of their rules I cant post them elsewhere (but if you run into trouble PM me and I'll see what I can do).

I watched all those fantastic documentaries on DVD, but I haven´t yet watched any on BR.

I use indeed jewel cases, so I might take a look at your covers, thanks!

I made my own Scream Factory front covers of every James Bond Film a while back. I hope you like them.

As you slowly move down the images of those bluray covers from the classic Bond posters to the posters of today you realise how uninspired the Bond poster designers have become. It all sort of goes slowly down hill from TLD onwards, although there is a much nicer TLD poster out there.

Absolutely. From LTK onwards they vary from uninspiring to downright awful.

Nice covers though @JamesBond1988 (why is it so difficult for EON to get such simple things right?) although personally I think I would have gone for the main poster for FYEO and TLD and the teaser poster for DAD and all 3 Craig films.

Out of interest what do you have on the backs?

Amazing how many spoilers these old posters have :-)

I guess the older posters had to act almost as a trailer, so showed
Lots of action etc. While these days, that isn't as needed ?

Well I'll tell you what isnt needed these days - dismally uninspired piss poor photoshop efforts that comprise just of a publicity still of Bond and the title. If the bloke who designed the SP poster has billed EON for more than an hour then they should do him for fraud. And even being generous and giving him an hour I dont know what he was doing for the other 57 minutes.

Well I dont think the term 'pretty sophisticated' could be applied in the case of the SP poster.

Thank You!!! I put a lot of effort into these covers, although I had to crop on some of them (most notably Diamonds Are Forever). TheWizardOfIce, to answer your question, I never done them yet, because of the hard work involved, including photoscanning the back cover for reference (which I'm unable to do due to the machine not working) as well as currently finding the correct font that was used on the back of Scream Factory's titles, which is extremely hard to locate at this point.

@JamesBond1988 . I forgot to say well done on the covers. These are the covers they should have used when the individual bluray discs were released. Much better to use the original artwork than something else. If I remember, the first ever release of the films on VHS in their orignal widescreen format used the original posters as the cover design.

I have the rare steelbook Blu-ray's from GF, GE and SF. They are very beautiful, and all feature the posters from those films, with embossed fonts.

Now that's what I want Fox/Sony to do, to bring out all other 20 films on steelbooks. It's something I wouldn't be surprised to see happening in the near future.
