Those of you who've read the script - what do you hope to see in the upcoming final trailer?
    Exterior Morocco scenes!

For all us script readers, is anyone surprised by the things you've read about Spectre maybe being the longest Bond film because I personally didn't get that impression when I read it. I'll certainly be more than happy if it is, I just didn't feel like it would be.

Wonder how this phone stuff will play out. Sony just released that new phone ad staring NH as MP, and not DC as Bond but pushing it as the Bond film's phone. They apparently aren't using Craig to promote it. I would think Sony couldn't push the Bond angle in advertising if Samsung gets the Bond gig itself. I wonder what gives. It's kind of funny. Phone wars.

If following the traditional pattern, SP would have ended after the Morocco-scenes. Bond blowing up the villain's lair, escaping with the Bond girl. That would have made it a 2hr movie.

I think that a low of viewers, who aren't checking their watch, will be surprised that there's another setpiece - in London - after that.

Well to me it felt like two movies crammed into one, with lots of cuts to make it not too long. Something as important as Madeleine caught by Oberhauser happens off screen !

^This. It does, in some ways, feel like a four-act film, which adds to the running time. If the film is as entertaining to watch as it is to read, however, I think that time will fly by.

Will we get the song All The Time in The World over the end titles? Which version do you prefer: the instrumental or with vocals(Louis Armstrong) version?

    That would be really cool!

    From the Empire article:

"The final chunk of the already lengthy
sequence, originally due to end with
a skidoo chase through the village and
culminate with Bond and Hinx facing
off at a dam, was truncated, presumably
because at some point someone would
have needed to stop for a pee. "

This has to be a rumor, right? It's not even in the 1st draft.

I think it may have been a joke, or a very early idea.

Bond throws him off the dam. "When you've gotta go, you've gotta go," he says before taking a pee. I missed my calling writing for Brosnans Bond. Missed it by that much!

When I read the script, I thought that SP was going to be a 150 min movie. It seems I was right.

I haven't read the leaks nor this thread but I have a sneaking suspicion that at or near the end of the film Blofeld/Oberhauser is going to address Swann as "Number ____."

I just feel that now that Eon can use all the tropes of SPECTRE (execution killings, numbered names, nehru suit, white cat?) but in a darker way , they will.

I'm hoping that Swann is a Bunt-like figure and that she survives and returns in another film based on the novel YOLT...surely she'll want to work with Waltz again (if he survives the film, which I'd say is likely).

I'll be back to check after I see the film. :)

Anybody suspicious that EON/Mendes/Craig are playing a game of redirection with all of this Craig is not returning, he's being replaced, it's "impossible" for him to return stuff? Mendes said something in the Empire interview about "there is some big stuff you don't see coming." Unless you read the scripts in the leaks. Posters who have read the scrips (I haven't, only the outline) and closely followed the shoot have noted the story line still seems to be mostly intact.

So I still think that B25 will be a continuation of SP with Swann playing out Tracy's story and Blofeld becoming Blofeld in B25. The spots on Waltz's face in pictures from what appeared to be the final scenes shot in London point to what will obviously be some CGI scarring work done on Waltz's face so that he is only becoming Blofeld as the film is ending. If Swann is killed in the beginning of B25, then that film almost writes itself. Bond spends the rest of B25 hell bent on revenge, chasing down Blofeld and a Spectre.

I think @Timmer mapped this out months ago in a post. The fact that EON and Mendes kept denying that B24/B25 would be a 2 parter kind of makes it all the more likely. Maybe B25 isn't a total Part II, but still very much a continuing saga. Why wouldn't they want to maintain as much plot mystery as they can given the crap they were put through with the Sony leaks.

Yea as someone who read the script through twice, I can sort of see how the ending could work as a goodbye to Craig, though a very disappointing one, but it works sooo much better as a cliffhanger for a YOLT type film for b25

    Agreed, it works either way.
  • Interestingly, the lyrics to Writing's On the Wall give me the impression that they've stuck to the ending of the December script.

I thought the exact same thing but I imagine there are some changes we still don't know about yet involving the ending. I thought also song was kinda spoilerish to a point of maybe giving away stuff regarding bond and swan.

    I thought that, too.
But that's becaue Sam Smith wrote the lyrics after reading that script in December. ;-)
He recorded the song in January.

The song would make a lot of sense as the end-credit-song.
Maybe they put an instrumental version for the title-sequence - like they did in FRWL.

I was trying to imagine the song with the credits as described in the script! it is going to be perfect, with vespers death, m death, etc ... it can't be a peppy song! even though SM pretends that things are different from the leaked script ... he is lying. the over all structure looks like its identical to the shooting script ... maybe a few details have changed here and there in the 3rd act! P.S. Mendes also said CW is not blofeld and NH is not moneypenny! he is a pathological lier.

As some are noting, the lyrics are a big spoiler. They in effect relate the ending from the leaks. That's why it should only be on the end credits. And of course the problems with the spoilers and the falsetto criticisms would then not be so potentially harmful to the film itself. But Mendes and EON would never have the guts to admit to making the mistake of choosing this song as the title song over the opening credits in the first place.

Smith couldn't figure out how to get the word 'spectre' in his lyrics? I always thought that the title was a prerequisite in the theme song.

"Casino Royale" and "Quantum of solace" were not mentioned in "You know my name" and "Another way to die".
