Exactly. Slightly left-of-center British newspaper, mostly progressive and critical. Hence it's a pivotal review.
I think there's a weird misconception that Casino Royale was some super dark, edgy Bond film. If anything it just stripped away everything that made TND - DAD such poor films. It had humor, it had class, it had great dialog and excellent action set pieces.
QoS went even further and ended up going too far. Still some humor, but overall a very emotionless film. Then I think SF went too far the other direction by trying to make the whole thing overly personal to Bond. My biggest worry seeing some of the trailers for SPECTRE was that it would do the same.
It sounds like this film is much more in the same vein as CR and I cannot freaking wait.

Sadly for some people, "humo(u)r" in Bond films means women with silly names, groaner innuendos, Roger zooming in on cleavage with a video camera etc. Basically things that aren't funny once you're past the age of 13.

And in regard to MI:RN - it seems like a lot of people expect so much more out of a Bond film that when a good Mission Impossible film comes around the reviews are 90%+ positive, but if that same film were a Bond film it would have to do so much more to blow someone out of the water.

The guy probably went home to have a Kale smoothie. Bond fucks women. Deal with it.
Mind you. It's an IndieWire blog. More IndieWire writers will post their review, but it shouldn't be seen as the 'official' IndieWire review.
Let's wait how this will progress over the next couple of days.

These critics are giving the film overwhelmingly glowing reviews.
Sjee....you're only scanning for the negative reviews no? :-)
Agreed. That last review was just ridiculous.
I was wondering the same thing
... and the most of them are not even realy negative.
