That first one could be made into a CR novel book cover. I love it.

    Good call. Agreed.
  • Finally here we are! I have picked up my first made to measure suit and I can't say more how happy I am. I feel in love with the fabric and I was going for something that resembled the Mexico Tom Ford suit. I went for a little darker shade of blue obviously.
The suit is made by Coppley and has all the Tom Ford O'Connor suit details as possible - 3 button roll, single vent, slant pockets, no ticket pocket, short coat length, and slim flat front trousers with cuffs. Shoes are the To Boot New York Aiden's, Tie is by Nicky, Shirt is a point collar shirt is from a local designer.

Sunglasses are the Tom Ford Henry's :)

Anyone else think that Craig's trousers made his arse look exceedingly large in SP..? When he walks up those stairs in Tangiers his backside fills a quarter of the screen.

I think, those trousers were just not tied fitting enough, which is a shame.. ;)

Nice one mate. But why a belt with a tailored suit? It should fit perfectly. No belt is more Bond.

The stylists have outdone themselves with Spectre. Each cloth, each suit, each evening gown and lingerie is stunningly beautiful.

I was happy to see Bond in what looked like a knitted tie again!

I'm sure it's been discussed to a certain degree already, but what was everyone's favorite outfit(s) in SP?

I think we all share a common favourite.
  • My favourites have to be the three piece Rome suit, and the tan leather jacket, navy polo, and chinos in Morocco.

I was quite fond of the blue suit he was wearing when he says he came to kill Oberhauser and the outfit in the finale!

For me the the coat, Npeal sweater combo look when he catches up with the Pale King ;)

    Coat is still be ID'd
  • The wardrobe was a highlight of the film to me. I loved that there were several different suit colors, so I loved the blue suit in the opening and the tan with the reddish tie. The sunglasses were a nice touch as well.

The only miss for me was the off white tuxedo on the train. If you're gonna go for the white tuxedo, go all the way white!

I disagree with you regarding the ivory dinner jacket. Bond never once wore an all-white tuxedo and he most likely never will. Connery, Moore, and Craig all wore black pants with their ivory dinner jackets and it's a classic Bond look. And, in all honesty, the all-white tuxedo looks tacky and would seem like something a teenager would wear to a school dance.

I have a strong dislike for aviator sunglasses; I'm thrilled to see that for the first time since Casino Royale, Bond is sporting a different style of eyewear.

You know, I looked at some pictures, and you're right, I'm misremembering. Maybe I just felt like Connery pulled it off better.

Definitely, I think. Connery did pull it off much better (which he did with almost everything imho).

A white dinner jacket is not for everyone, because it sort of accentuates the frame/physique (given the mass of white). So, I think it suits a taller person with a more narrow width to height ratio. Sort of like wearing a shirt with horizontal stripes......this only works well with taller people also.....shorter people should wear a vertical stripe shirt if going the stripe route, to accentuate the height and downplay the width.

Having said that, it was nice to have the throwback. Every long serving Bond actor should be seen in it at some point maybe...

Yeah Tom Ford is great partner to Bond. The best suits in SP were the navy pre titles one and the black Rome one.
  • I'm great, @NicNac . It's nice to see you're still around :)

So earlier in the thread when someone asked about the Austria quilted zipper I said it looked like a Moncler. I turns out it was RRP £460.00 and sold out in black everywhere

    Blue is available here

But what about this for an alternative

should pull off the desired look?. Not bad for £45.00 plus P&P

    You must be joking, right?
Tom Ford does not understand 'subtle' if it hit him on the head after a 3000ft drop. Apart from one or two of the suits in SP Ford has offered nothing that looks remotely 'James Bond' since QoS.

If it ain't conduit cut / hacking jacket then it ain't Bond, simple as that.

I love Swans Silver dress in the train scene. It flows so well and the fabric hugs in the right places when she walks.
  • I put this on earlier by itself, but Just in case anyone's interested you can buy the gloves as warn by DC at the end of SP from Dents, not cheap but their gloves are very good.

  • One thing that made me snigger was that Bond & Swann wore the same sunglasses, kind of like one of those couples who wear matching anoraks, just a tad more a stylish.
