And looking at my list, I'd have to tie FRWL and CR for top spot, seeing as CR has a much better written female character.
I never understood why FYEO is supposed to be a serious Bond film. It has a parrot flirting with the PM, it has a line about delicatessen in stainless steel, it has Bond in a yellow 2CV and the wine guy is there again looking all confused at his half empty bottle.
TSWLM's dialogue between Bond and Amasova about the death of the latter's lover is much more serious than anything in FYEO.
We can dis Moore if we want to

A matter of opinion. For me DAD isn't that entertaining anymore, because the 2nd half for me is like visual porn in every aspect. It's like an early predecessor to The Fast & The Furious franchise. And those films are 'entertaining' too. But from Bond films we should at leasr expect a certain style and Britishness. Everything in DAD is sacrificed for the sake of action porn.
At least TWINE gave us a Bond that was, at least emotionally, more multi-layered. He had a wider and more colorful palet of character traits. And...it had Sophie Marceau. Portraying one of the most treacherous Bond girls in years.
They couldn't do that today and it fly.

*fist pumps* I now vainly feel like my comments from 2 years ago were quite prescient.
(Kidding of course, but it's nice to see others are starting to share my opinion and I'm no longer alone).
Well the first half of it isn't without its merits. The sword fight, Cuban clinic scenes aren't that bad.
I agree. For me still best to evaluate and appreciate DAD in context of when it was released.
True. Most of the "offensive" stuff in DAD occupies what, 5-10 minutes of screentime when all added together. There's another 110 minutes or so of film that isn't bad, or at least no worse than GE/TND/TWINE
Agreed. I enjoyed the dialogue when Bond met his contact in Cuba ...forgot his name.
Not referring to Jinx.
