Indeed, the score is haunting, powerful and ominous
@Creasy47 You'll be glad to know I loved it and Deakins cinematography is extraordinary, though Blunt and the supporting cast were good but this is Benicio's film.
Wish I'd caught it at the cinema now. The score is hugely atmospheric and brilliantly accompanies film, possibly my film of 2015 alongside Mad Max Fury Road.
If only SPECTRE had been even been approaching this level.
Some other examples of (black) steelbooks that others might find 'boring', but that I love ;-):
Also got my copy of SP in the mail today and it looks beautiful on blu-ray.
P.S. Was it the Best Buy one you bought? I still haven't gotten mine yet.
Yeah, it was the Best Buy one. I've heard many stories of people getting their items a day before release, and this was the first time it had happened to me, which was nice.
A wonderful, thundering beast of a score. Absolutely perfect for the film it accompanied.
Perfect description. Getting to hear the score trembling in the background as we get those sweeping landscape shots was brilliantly done.
This.
The film looks great though. Very much enjoyed watching it again
Agreed with the first point because we never hear that score once throughout the film. But the blu ray looks phenomenal.
Very sad, very true. The only thing to expect when purchasing this movie in any format is the movie itself, and hopefully you're one of us that managed to enjoy it. It's lacking in a solid artwork/physical release, special features, just about everything but the movie itself.
The last time a re-issue with newer features happened was with the collectors edition for CR in 2008 by Sony. QOS was originally slated for its own, as Forster revealed that a commentary for such a 2010 release was recorded, but then MGM had its issues and stuff like the commentary has never seen the light of day. It's in the archives somewhere, so who knows if that will ever see the light of day.
QOS really should have got the upgrade with the Bond 50 set. It's the odd one in the bunch with menus that don't match with the set.
