I just rewatched TND and noticed some drugs and a syringe in Carver's safe when Bond gets the decoder. It never struck me before that it's probably used for 'celebrity overdoses'?
Because they needed Bond to deliver the money/bomb right into MI6 HQ. Then she is there in the boat to assasinate Bond as soon as King is dead, because he'll know he was duped and the cigar girl is his one lead.
It's explained a little bit in a deleted scene on the DVD/blu, Renard orders her to take care of it
Me too. Always thought its Gupta's safe where he stashes GPSs, drugs and the finest porn Hamburg has to offer.
Then at the end when Bond leaves him in the desert, he says "Goodbye, Mr. Greene". Seems to me that's a humorously polite yet deliberate final diss (on top of the whole leaving him in a desert to die thing).
I want the content of that safe.
Silly thing I noticed: there's a smoothie bottle in Moneypenny's fridge in SP AND I know the brand and buy it sometimes. So I share her tastes in smoothies.
OK, speaking of this guy. There's something very bizarre going on in Goldeneye. This Admiral is found dead in his cabin, after Xenia did...er, that, to him. But when Xenia boards the yacht with her "companion" who has had to show his ID to get on, its quite clearly him, or someone who looks very much like him, standing on the left of the frame, his face mostly hidden. So...who is this? Ouromov wearing a false beard? How come this is never mentioned or revealed?
Isn't it meant to be Ouromov taking on his identity, when Xenia does her thing we see a shot of a hand taking his ID.
I have always assumed it was Ouromov, yes. But when they are welcomed onto the yacht, we see the "Admiral" on the left of the frame and its quite clearly a bearded man who is shorter than Xenia. I assume its the actor who plays the Admiral standing there. It certainly isn't Ouromov wearing a fake beard. Has no-one else ever noticed this?
Only if it had been explicitely stated that it was Orumov.
And is it only me or isn't the Janus Syndicate surprisingly small? Below Trevelyan you have Xenia Onatopp, Orumov and Boris as seconds in command and they also seem to be the only ones doing field (and dirty) work. The train Trevelyan uses seems mostly empty and again, he destroys it without a second thought. You only see a group of henchmen in the last act.
And I love GE, but it strikes me right now that for the scale of the operation and the seemingly importance of Janus, you don't see many members.
How could they even run a business if they were all "stationed" in Cuba?
Oh I don't have a problem with it per se, I mean I enjoy GE tremedously and its low budget is part of its charm. I just find it strange sometimes, seeing the exact same people doing everything, alone.
It's interesting that this is being mentioned, because I did notice that height discrepancy and it bothers me.
Scott Tracey's tones are unmistakeable.
He also dubs Hamilton at the PTS funeral scene in the next film. "Whose... uh... funeral is it?"
A complete list of Rimmer dubs would be interesting.
Well, it was a phantom helicopter. If it was Ourumov, then the Janus syndicate was really understaffed!
