Make of this qhat you will but Craig to potentially be the longest serving Bond? I can see it. They have a great actor in Craig and with the delays that suspended production on Bobf 23 for a while, it's only right that we get Craig for as long as we can. This underscores Babs' comments at the PC about Craig being Bond for a very long time and that he's not going anywhere and with the addition of Q and Eve Moneypenny, I think those characters have enough time to grow and become established with Craig. So Craig could be done by 2022 which would make him, 53/54 if they stick with the proposed 2 year releases. That's a perfect age for him to bow out on IMO.

There's no way Craig is going to put out eight Bond flicks if you ask me. In fact, I think we should consider ourselves happy if he returns for number 4. He doesn't, however, strike me as the type of actor who's willing to get stuck in a part for nearly two decades. That said, with the ways things are going right now, I don't think I'd mind Craig as Bond for another five films but no, I don't consider it realistic.

Please don't say that. The world is increasingly dark and depressing. Craig and his 'realistic' Bond need to go.

I never thought I'd miss Moore but there you go.

I'm going to echo what DD said once again. Craig doesn't strike me either as the type of actor that would want to stay in one role for a long time. For one thing he was reluctant to take the role in the first place. He's too versitile and, frankly, too good for that. Coupled with the fact that by the time Bond 24 comes out (whenever that will be) he will be nearing 50. I suspect he will do one more after SF and then be off.

I agree with some of the comments above me, wether some of you like it or not, I doubt that craig will do 8 films. I'm not even sure he'll pull of another after skyfall (depending on how long the gap is). If skyfall is his last film I won't be suprised, but I 'll be shocked if he does more than 4 or 5 films.
  • don't forget the best part of the article:

"The 69-year-old New Yorker said: “The director Sam Mendes and Daniel are taking it back to a 60s feel – more Sean. I think that’s what the fans wanted. There’s a magical Goldfinger feel surrounding it all. It’s all very exciting. I can’t wait for people to see the movie because I think we’re making a very special Bond.”

If they can really succeed in giving it that feel, like the french OSS117 films, I would be amazed!

"I’d love Daniel to surpass Roger’s record and do eight pictures."

That shouldn't be the goal. We don't know how well Craig will have aged in five films' time (not to mention his enthusiasm to stay in the role). Although I'd love for him to make more than 4, so I say bring it on, Dan.
"Sam Mendes and Daniel are taking it back to a 60s feel – more Sean."

I just peed my pants in excitement- and I'm not embarrassed to admit it.
"There’s a magical Goldfinger feel surrounding it all."

And viola! Craig's Goldfinger- both in vibe and the lack of an evil Quantum/SPECTRE-like organisation in the plot.
"We’d really like to get all six (Bonds) together."

I'll put a gold frame around that photo.

Yes. After Skyfall I'd prefer 5 films in the vein of MR/DAD/YOLT/DAF/TMWTGG, not 5 more depressing and dark Craig films.

I agree that Bond needs to lighten up a LITTLE bit (I suspect SF will try and inject some humour into the story) but I doubt we will see another MR or DAD (god forbid). The audience now just won't buy it.

Incidently I remember an interview with Roger Moore on Radio 5 where he said (jokingly) that a Jaws-esque character would liven Craig's films up a little.

He's a physical Bond, he has no charm or humor to fall back on when he gets on a bit. So I think two more after this one and then he'll get the burn notice.

That will take him up to 49.

I wonder if the new Q will end up being Bond in a few years?

This looks like forgotmyusername about to shoot himself 8-X. Sorry to see you go, this place will be so classless without you.
But since you don't seem to be the brightest kid on the block (username and posts), try to not shoot you in the foot instead - that only hurts...

I don't think the picture is meant to be of 'forgotmyusername' germanlady. So you don't have to worry.

i like Craig, so seeing him in another 5 films after Skyfall wouldn't bother me in the slightest....

but i don't think that should be a set in stone type of goal - that they have to have him in 8 films - they have to surpass Moore's 7..... realistically, 5 films would be just right..

but.. we'll see how Skyfall turns out - if they can continue to write excellent films, and draw in big numbers at the box office, then let them go for as long as they want with Craig.

Actually maybe Wilson said, he wants him to do 5 and they made "5 MORE" out of it.
5 more would mean about 15 years and this is stretching it a bit for anybodies enthusiasm - DC's and the fans IMO.
  • As someone else said it's best to see how they go and how he ages - and of course, whether he wants to do more. If pressed I'd guess we'll get four out of him for sure and maybe five if he gets enough time to do other projects that he likes in the time in-between films.

Well CR is lifeless, colourless, boring, dull, unmemorable... whereas MR, DAD, YOLT and DAF were fun, epic, escapist, entertaining, funny, colourful, full of life... so yes CR is depressing IMO because it's depressing to see how low the franchise has fallen.

In your opinion it wasn't... no need to make childish remarks because you disagree with my views on the film. Why don't you post your actual opinion and not ridiculous claims ? Once again the Craig loverboys can't accept that some people may not like his films... I am tired of these Craig fanboys that insult, laugh and despise everyone who doesn't like Craig as Bond... @Agent007391 are you even a Bond fan ? Or are you just in love with Daniel Craig ?

I'm not making childish remarks. I'm making an observation about you. I never said I couldn't accept that people may not like the film, I'm just saying that you obviously never saw the film. The middle (poker) section may be somewhat boring (and can be, even to me), but before that comes three major action scenes (construction site, embassy, airport), and after that comes an awesome chase and another major action scene (Venice), plus the extremely good end scene with Bond and Mr. White.

Do not mistake your beliefs about my opinion to be my opinion. You choose them to be childish remarks, when they are not. They are, in fact, a very strong opinion about a great film. Mindless action and over-the-top gadgets are not all that make a Bond film. Substance has to be there, too.

I think alot of people are just fooling themselves that craig will do tons more films, when skyfall could be his last one. Craig is a smart guy, so I doubt he'll carry on into his 50s. I think he'll do one or two more at most. And I don't want him to carry on that long, I'm getting tired of him as it is.

Yeah, after Brosnan, I'm taking it on a film-by-film basis, that this could be this Bond's last film. Craig may quit after Skyfall, and after all the BS and financial problems that have been happening since QoS, it wouldn't surprise me if he wants out.

I never saw the film because I didn't like it ? Why don't you also call me an idiot or a moron or a jerk aswell because I don't like the film ? And don't you understand that your views on the film is just YOUR opinion, and not facts ? I found CR to be dull, unmemorable, lifeless and colourless, and that is my OPINION. So don't stuff your opinion down my throat as if it was the truth about the film.

@Agent007391 please don't act like the typical Craig fanboy who just disregards and insults everyone that doesn't like his films. That is just childish behaviour that doesn't belong on this forum. We're here because we love James Bond. We aren't here to insults the fellow members who don't follow the same opinions or like the same films as you or I do. So please show some respect next time. Please don't act like a jerk who can't accept that some people may not follow your views, or that may even have radically different opinions than yours. Your behaviour just dumbs down the level of discussion of this website.

I never said that it was because you didn't like it. And if you want me to call you idiot/moron/jerk, I will, suits me just fine. You complain about how people should allow you your opinion when you won't allow them theirs. Why don't you learn the Golden Rule, and do unto others as you would have others do unto you. Otherwise, all this hate you spring on people for their opinions, will come right back to you. Equal and opposite reactions, and all that.

My personal belief is, that if nothing unexpected happens during SF and if the film doesn't fail at the BO, its pretty sure to assume - after what was said at the PC, by BB and DC - that he will do at least a 4th. After that, I agree, its in the clouds right now.

Where did I not allow your opinion ? You are the one who just came here and said that 'you didn't like CR, thus you didn't see the film'... You are the childish one here. You are the one who doesn't allow others' to express their opinions. You are the one not allowing people to not like Craig's films, like a typical Craig fanboy. I'm sure you are better than that, so please show it. I never said once that you are not allowed to approve of Craig's films.

I didn't complain that you expressed your opinion, I complained because you act like your opinion is the only truth. So don't act like a total moron who thinks that I didn't like the film so obviously I didn't see the film at all. That is just the most stupid claim, that belongs to the idiotic fanboys on IMDB. So stop being like complete douche and accept that you don't agree with me.

Here, if you can read english :

You are the one who made the stupid claim that I didn't see the film because I didn't like it. So YOU are the one who thinks his opinions are facts. I simply expressed my opinion, and you are the one who came here and started insulting me for having such opinions.

So yes @Agent007391 you are the one who is wrong here. Why couldn't you simply say 'I disagree', instead of being a moron and make ridiculous claims that I didn't see the film because I didn't like it ?
