Part of me thinks a decision is due to end all the speculation, but another part applauses to them to net bowing to the press circus and just do their thing in their time.
They have set up so much in "Skyfall" and "Spectre"... A new M, a new Q a new Moneypenny, a new Blofeld, a new Spectre... I know it has been done before but it will be so strange if they keep those actors playing those characters and not have Craig as Bond. They are "his" MI6 and villains.
Also he was just so damn good I am greedy and want more films with him as Bond. He *is* Bond to me.
Until an official Eon press release is out I am choosing to believe that this is the Daily Mail looking to get page views and their "insider" is full of rubbish!
(I'll be over here in the corner rocking back and forth with my fingers in my ears going "la la la la Craig is not leaving, Craig is not leaving lalalalala" :-)
Usually when numbers like this come out there is something to it, even it it's not entirely true. Things are definitely happening behind the scenes imho and more so than we know.
Maybe they just haven't got the contract finalized with a new fella yet, or even all the ink dried on a distribution deal, and hence can't comment.
I think EON and the studio would be nuts to offer Craig 68 million dollars. That's an insane amount of money to guarantee a 900 million dollars gross for Bond 25. Be much cheaper to recast, use the hype of the 'new guy' to sell the film to the public. Given the extra hype for the new actor there's every chance Bond 25 can match or better SPECTRE's box office.
"You contact your people, and you tell them to check their seals. They have a leak. Do it now, please."
Two words to EON (which in any other studio is common knowledge)
COST EXPENDITURE
Again - why believe this and take it out on EON and/or Daniel? This is stupid to blame them for something, NONE here knows is even halfway true. I would wish for a bit more fairness here.

$99,303,800 actually at the current rate of exchange
Well EON doesn't have a reputation for doing pictures at a reasonable cost lately. So I think some criticism is fair and should be expected. Craig certainly is not to "blame". If I were offered that much money, I'd take it of course.
The level of uncertainty is killing me.
At the rate they are going that's just one more from Daniel then.
=))
Minus the fees and other unforeseeable expenses...
M:I - Rogue Nation was quite light. I have to say I like my Bond dark and gritty, but get where you're coming from. Watching M:I - RN in the cinema last year made me want a lighter Bond too actually.
There is no reason why Bond can't be lighter in tone. I agree.
It's all about how you do it. Just don't use the mid 90's/early 00's as the blueprint. Go further back and the approach is laid out (and defined even) by EON & Bond. MI is using it to good effect.
Roger Moore in the 70's had a 5% cut of the film in addition to his fee to play the role. Plus follow on fees when it is shown again, released on VHS, DVD, Bluray, Digital etc....
If Daniel doesn't do another one (and I would like to see a change) it will be a personal decision as he is not a megalomanic like Tom Cruise and after his success and what would appear to be quite a modest approach to being a film star, I don't really see him being bought by money. Maybe before he was Bond, but not after and not at this stage.
One hasn't to so with the other. Here we talk about a figure, that is very, very far from confirmed or even likely and build up resentments. So - how fair is that?
If I were him, I'd move on and try new things and develop myself as an 'older' character actor now. Map out the space.
Having said that, it's up to him.
Completely agree.
I wish this wan't true but in my heart of hearts I know you're right... I just want to see Craig face Blofeld one more time...
:))
