Will we go back around again to DN after NSNA concludes? I hate to have missed most of this thread! It looks like it has been a lot of fun!

Top Three Scenes in Never Say Never Again:

    1. Bond vs. the big thug at the health clinic (a pretty entertaining fight!)
    2. Bond and Felix's assault on the underwater cave (spectacular to see Felix join in on the action)
    3. Bond's and Domino's escape from the seaside castle (though the horse jump is kind of corny)

The Bond vs Lippe (the thug, from what I remember, is called 'Lippe') fight in NSNA had the very same choreography as Napoleon Solo vs the bald thug in One Spy Too Many. I take it because Lorenzo Semple, Jr was influenced by UNCLE, he had recycled the same fight for some reasons... Especially the segment in the gym... More of the same.

    1.) PTS
2.) Bond vs. Lippe at the health clinic.
3.) Felix Leiter! He's too good in this, I wish we had this version of him in an EON film somehow.

    1. Schrublands fight with Lippe
    2. Valerie Leon sequence "your room or mine"
    3. Fatima confrontation
    Honorable mention:
Bond on a bicycle singing with Felix jogging in a very stylish jogging outfit: dress shoes and black socks.

1.) Fight in Shrublands (in fact I far prefer the entire Shrublands sequence in NSNA to TB's)
2.) Klaus Maria Brandeur telling Domino what he'd do if she left him 'I slit your throat' then that smile!
3.) the cigarette case gyroscope - as good as any comedy moment in the official bond series.
4.) And of course Fatima blush's death scene - she is OTT in the best way and a pre-cursor to Onatopp's orgasmic killing actions.

I remember watching NSNA as a kid and being creeped out by the waterbed death scene - I couldn't wrap my head around the psychics of it. On reflection either NSNA or AVTAK were the first bond films I saw as a kid - I can't remember which. TLD was the first in the cinema - but I always thought NSNA wasn't that bad - except for the shitty soundtrack - but it was the 80s after all.

Fatima Blush was in the original screenplay for what later became Thunderball. Fiona Volpe was the name Fleming gave her in the book.

    1) Opening exercise scene (with sound turned down cos of awful theme!)
    2) Fatima skipping down stairs when given permission to try and kill Bond again!
    3) Algernon ("Lucky bloody you!")

She reminds me very much of Cruella De Vil there.

The character did not appear in the novel and was made up exclusively for the film?

    1. Opening sequence
    2. 'Yes, but my martini's still dry'
    3. Shark diving sequence

She was originally to have been Fiona Kelly, a sexy Irish redhead. ;)

She did exist in the James Bond, Secret Agent screenplay, which Fleming later adapted to the novel we know as Thunderball.

Volpe was in Maibaum's script. I don't remember reading about a Fiona Kelly, as I do believe there was a Fatima Blush in McClory/Wittingham/Fleming's original script.

    1. At the villa, a tuxedoed Bond knows something's up, casually impales his apple on the trident of the golden statuette, and draws his Walther.
    2. Bond plays Domination with Largo. Shocking, positively shocking.
    3. Motorcycle chase and Blush's explosive demise.
