Obviously I also wouldn't know anything about Swift's "so called romances" but how do you know they are "so called"?

However, many people seem very sure that those pics were staged, so just out of curiosity; why do people think that? Also, why would either one of them do that - what would be the goal? Just seems such an idiotic thing for anyone to do.

She does not have a private beach in RI.

Anyway, to keep this discussion on topic. Maybe Taylor Swift should be the next Bond girl? Just to make some people fume. For the people who have no idea who she is:

Hiddle did good, if the rumours are to be believed.

We are getting naughty. I love it.

English is not my native language, so I’m very sorry if this phrase is inappropriate or wrong, as you probably guessed, I just wanted to make an allusion of that famous expression “shaken, not stirred”, but apparently, my utterance means also something else 8-|

In fact look at the fan art above and tell me he doesn't look perfect!

    Very nice.

He's not my top choice, but Fassbender would be in my top 3-5, and I definitely wouldn't be disappointed if we got him.

Still hoping for Rupert Friend as Bond, however:

In fact, I do see him walking into the casino with confidence and out of nowhere they'd hear his voice "Banco" over a baccarat table.

I think that would make a fine introduction for him, something cool and classic Bond without any kind of personal angle to it. Maybe give him a take on Sanchez's "It's not personal. Only business," line to close out the PTS as he dispatches his first victim.

The photos were taken on Taylor Swift's private beach residence in Newport, RI - they are highly detailed shots that were obviously taken from a close distance, i.e. on the property itself. So either someone got past her security and bodyguards and trespassed, or they were invited. There's no blur or lack of focus that you regularly see in "candid" paparazzi shots, and it's not like there are hordes of paparazzi cruising Rhode Island.
What do they get out of it? Well, he gets a big profile boost. As someone else noted, this immediately led to several "Who is Tom Hiddleston?" articles, so he gets buzz about him, it shoots down rumors about his (and her) sexuality, and gives him a "Hey, well if he can land Taylor Swift, he can definitely be James Bond!" narrative.

Okay, thanks. I wouldn't know about those articles or indeed the existence of those pics if I hadn't read about them on this site. But if it's true about it being on private property etc. then that makes little sense in that surely they or their PR people wouldn't be that stupid? I mean the obvious conclusion would be that it was staged and that would defeat the purpose somewhat, plus having such pics taken on non-private property/more of a public place would be more sensible if it was a publicity stunt.
I didn't know there are rumours about their sexuality, and I don't care about their sexuality. They themselves certainly shouldn't care about any rumors (true or not), but what do I know.

My interest in this has nothing to do with Swift, only Hiddleston, and only regarding what it says about him that he'd agree to something like that IF the pics were staged. I'm generally unwilling to believe the worst of people very easily, that's all.

Fassbender would be excellent but it won't happen. Neither will Hardy. I'm pretty sure of it.

In a recent [2015] interview on the BBC radio 4 Film Program Bond casting director Debbie McWilliams spoke about how she had championed Rupert Friend to play a younger Bond in Casino Royale.

If Debbie McWilliams happens to be the casting director for B25, you can bet he'll be considered.

Exactly what I've been saying for weeks now. Even if she's not involved, supposedly he impressed a number of people in the room with his audition. Back at the time, CBn had gotten a run down from someone in the know about the various people who had confirmed to have had talks, with the writeup about Friend saying that his reading for the role was quite impressive and that he was, at one point, as serious a candidate as Cavill, who we know ended up second to Craig.

Had he not pulled himself out of the running, who knows how it might have ended up, although I do agree that he was too young back in 2005.

    How old is him?
He even looks like a candidate for Bond himself at first look he reminded me to Pierce Brosnan and latter a little to Christian Bale ?

He's 43. From House of Cards. He'd be a reasonably good enabler or secondary villain (TWINE Davidov type) but not the main bloke in my view.

Or like another 00 just Alec Trevelyan. Though they already played the 00 traitor twice (in skyfall and Goldeneye) im not sure they would go for third.

they have played Bond teaming up with a woman or agent from any country three times: Moonraker, The Spy who loved me and Tomorrow never dies so another Alec wouldn't hurt.

Hiddleston almost seems like Bond now, with rumours of porking Swift etc. The consummate playboy bachelor.

Your idea of "consummate playboy bachelor" and mine are about 180% apart. Most of Swift's so called romances have been with beards. Swift and Hiddleston both appear to be quite asexual. The staged "romantic" shots on the rocks and the recent boxer posing efforts smack of phony PR stuff. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Hiddleston is a good actor, but he is about as genuinely masculine as Barry Manilow.

He'll act Bond OK, but he will never have the tough, masculine edge a great Bond should have. The charm, posh stuff is easy. But as Mendes said during SP promo, there are very few truly masculine actors out there. Hiddleston is not one of them. I can't stand Elba's arrogance, but at least he has the swagger and masculinity that a great Bond should have. Hiddleston does not.

It is probably is PR yes. Hiidleston showed he can act with a masculine edge (to make a great Bond) in The Night Manager. I couldn't care less about Elba's arrogance, but he's black, so that he can't be Bond anyhow.

And, He has never been an official candidate; his association with the franchise is entirely a product of the tabloids and unfounded , politically correct, speculation. With that said, I an a big fan of Elba's but not as Bond.

I'm in agreement with recent comments that Hiddle has damaged his chances with the Swift scenario and underwear spread. While it's none of my business, I'd prefer if he moved on from her quickly and kept his clothes on from now on.

Well I called tom Hiddleston today and said "yes well you put your clothes back on and I will buy you an ice cream cone"

In all seriousness Hiddleston is was and always will be third on my list for bond #7

I still say of Babs doesn't at least screen test Hardy and Fassbender she is crazy if they decline so be it but seriously with everyone complaining about no actors having machismo look at these two men hell Hardy has so much machismo many claim he would be better as a villain (a silly notion for sure) so no there are good canidates for 007 but as Hardy said in inception

You musn't be afraid to dream a little bigger darling

Heck if they wanted to (and I know they won't but bear with me) bring Neeson on for one film the man looks great at 64 and you can take the elements of never say never again (bond coming back from retirement etc) and do your one finale bond film bringing in a new mi6 regulars for one film as well (David Sucheet as M some hot 40 year old British actress can't think of one right now as Moneypenny heck Famke Jeensen back as the Bond girl I dunno make her Blofelds daughter Hopkins as Blofeld etc)

This will give actors like Hardy Fassbender or even Craig (I would take. Diamonds are forever situation from him) time to finish projects up.
  • Hello, here are several gifs of Aidan Turner as Philip Lombard in "And Then There Were None" - I thoght they are quite bondesque, maybe you would be interested (or maybe you've seen them already).
