    Google it. The inquisitor.

    Finding nothing.

I wouldn't waste too much time. Neither of these were ever in serious contention.

Sorry, there's no 'o'. Just inquisitr. Title: "Theo James failed audition?" Published 2 hours ago.

December 2018 is over 30 months from now. Well within reason even at Logan paced writing.

I'd rather 2028 than let Logan have another crack.

Agreed. I'll probably be dead by then so if Logan does return I won't care.

As it turns out the Inquisitr was summarizing a story from something called Heat Street

With all of these highly credible sources weighing in on this, we must be nearing an announcement. Any day now.

Watch, next summer they will announce a 2019 release date.

There is no reason to think Bond 25 won't be released before the end of 2018. To be more specific, if the producers followed the production schedule of Casino Royale:

    February 2017: director + writer(s) announced
October 2017: Bond Nr. 7. announced
    January 2018: filming begins
    July 2018: filming ends
    November 2018: the premiere

If EoN can keep the budget from exceeding $200million then they can release the movie any year, without the worry of other tent pole films like star wars slaughtering them because it's going to happen anyway but the upside is, increased profit margins.

There's no reason why they can't do it. It's definitely doable. The question is do they want to? There doesn't appear to be much interest to churn them out as frequently by the current group (EON or MGM) based on remarks in the recent past.

That's rather unfortunate....for me as a fan. I'll have to get my kicks with other franchises in the meanwhile, as will the rest of us.

Yeah I'd almost be willing to bet my Blu-ray of OHMSS on that. But you never know- it's still possible a 2018 release could happen. Just seems like Eon doesn't have the motivation right now to get cracking on B25.

Yes, I completely agree. Tone down the action set pieces (this is a spy franchise after all), knock 20 mins off the running time, and bring the next film between 150 million and 200 million. They literally couldn't go wrong if they did just that.

Just look at two of the films that have opened in theatres recently: Ghostbusters (budget 144 million) and Tarzan (budget 180 million). If these films had managed to keep their budgets around the 100 million mark they would have been moderate successes. As it is, they will scrape by, make back their costs and perhaps make a few million profit.

Think about it, if the next Bond film cost 180 million to produce, it would turn a profit at about 450 million worldwide.

I would love it if they could stick to that, and maintain a 3 year schedule going forward. I'm just sick of all the uncertainty and the financial risk.

The budget probably could have been slashed quite a bit on SPECTRE, and if done right, been fairly impressive. There weren't exactly a large number of stunt set pieces or even a Ken Adam style production design. If the filmmakers went the FYEO route on Bond 25 it wouldn't need to compete for "most expensive movie ever made". A low key entry focused on character would do the trick.

B-) Like very strong rumours say, which some people choose to ignore.[/quote]

And many of those rumours can be traced back to "sources close to Tom Hiddleston". His people have been briefing left, right & centre for months that he's the next Bond - or, at the very least, that the role is his if he wants it. It's a bit strange: if Hiddleston has been cast, why doesn't he just sit back, relax, and wait for the announcement instead of jumping the gun?

Is he trying to bounce EON into something?

First post. Apologies if I made an arse of it.

Craig will get first refusal or t least consulted with.

It would be more of a risk to go with Hiddleston than make a by the numbers Spectre sequel IMO.

Yes, but don't forget they'll have to take the leap eventually anyway. It might be better to take the bull by the horns, so to speak.

They wont take the risk after 2 billion combined for the last two outings. There still is aa fresh route to take with Craig in the role.

Graham Rye sent me a message to recofirm that a previously very reliable source is telling him that Daniel Craig definitely will be quitting.

After the last couple of so called scoops that Graham Rye said was going to happen, which resulted in nothing; Rye's word means nothing these days. @Marketto is a far more reliable source than Rye is.

Yes, I told Rye I did't believe him to be credible.

"Sources close to Tom Hiddleston" are the fan fiction writers of gossip magazines/websites. They just want the clicks. I mean the rumours from industry sources at Reddit and AJB, and Graham Rye. Combined they make a pretty strong case that Tom Hiddleston might indeed be the next Bond.

Thanks for the mention @doubleoego, but until now I REALLY don't know anything about Craig quitting or not.

It would be nice if Aidan Turner were picked, at the very least to keep that continuity going.

"She is currently in London shooting Film Stars Don’t Die with JAMIE BELL, and a source said: “Barbara is not going to be rushed into a Bond and wants to work on two other film projects next year."

Do we know what the second film BB is working on is? Or did they confuse that with her work on 'Othello'?

If not, then that's two films and a play for her to complete before buckling down on Bond25.

Is she producing these under the Eon Productions label or on her own?
