No more female M. M in the novels was written as a male not female. While it was fresh to see a female M I think Judo Dentch should be the only one to have that honer

And here's to wonder if those who will acquire Pinewood studios will also be listing ownership over MGM and the distribution rights.

Not really at all related. Pinewood doesn't exist to serve the Bond franchise alone, they operate themselves.

Yes. I'd add that hypothetically if a new female M were to be recast I'd prefer, like Bond, she be from the U.K.
Casting American Gillian Anderson as M, and you might as well just have David Duchovny play Bond.
I'll be the first to admit I am extremely closed minded when it comes to 007. I'm also cynical enough to believe there are actually people out there that would find Anderson as M and Duchovny as Bond to be an amazingly BRILLIANT idea. For the sake of variety, especially in the 21st Century, I think it would be nice for a future Bond film to embrace classic tradition.

Anderson lives in the UK, holds British citizenship, and does a pretty good English accent. I wouldn't have a problem with her as M in the future.

Spent most of her childhood in London, too.

What about Olivia Coleman as the next female M?

Wow, always thought Anderson was british!

I never knew she had such strong ties to England. I'd still go even older for M, though. Maybe Caroline Munro, Stephanie Beacham or Valerie Leon as M..someone from their generation.

And she already played M in Johnny English Reborn.

Anyone for Rowan Atkinson as the new Bond?

And this is why fans should never get a say. From a multi awarding Dame to two birds who have a career of largely being cast for their tits, which admittedly were pretty good.

Colman is generally wonderful, but too young for the role, surely? (Unless we have a very young Bond, and I sure wouldn't want that...)

Well, you weren't wrong. She is British, too: dual citizenship, both accents, lived her childhood there and lives there now, calls London home.

"Even older"? As if she's in any way "old"... (she's a bit younger than Craig). But I also think M should be older than in her or his 40s .

Fiennes is a great M. They should keep him for the foreseeable.

What I don't believe in is censoring me or killing me because I don't believe as you do.

And to be honest isis isn't about religious dogma it's an excuse to brutalize the innocent. Nothing more than an excuse to kill.

I'm very much in agreement with this.

LOL. I'll admit I was being a bit sarcastic, ........and on a Hammer Horror kick. I was actually going to suggest Christopher Neame as either Q or Moneypenny but that would have gone too far.
If indeed the entire team is recast for B25 in a post Craig era, would it be too much to ask to find a Bernard Lee type M anymore?

Agreed. Why are we talking about recasting M?

Or Q? I like Whishaws blinking and stammering.

If the Craig universe/timeline is continued with an actor close, within 10 years, to his age,I would like to se him and other cast members retained. If they go much younger and begin a new timeline, I would like to see an entirely new cast.

I like the alchimy between Fiennes/Whishaws/Harris. I'd like them to stay a few times, but with the next actor there is chance that they will recast.

They didn't recast M for Casino Royale because Dench was really fantastic, but since Dalton (if I'm right) there's always been a full recasting for the new Bond actors.
    (Except for Q).

Got to remember tho those 3 actors espically Ralph are not cheep. The producers probably want their money's worth with them.

Right which is a problem. They're supporting not costars that need screen time. That said, I like Winshaw, so maybe $$ can be saved by a multiple picture deal.

Assuming Ralph sticks around for a few more films (and I hope he does), she would be about the right age by then. I think she would be a fantastic successor personally.

Now I'm beginning to feel the entire MI6 Bond team may very well end up being recast. The more time passes with no news, the more likely we're in for a complete overhaul.

I sincerely hope not. I do like the current Craig cast.

There are certainly valid debates to be had about recasting the MI6 team or not but surely there is one thing we can all agree on: it's time for Rory Kinnear to hit the dole queue?

I disagree. One of the few good things about QoS.
