    For Your Eyes Only is a solid film, but it's gonna be GoldenEye for me. More stuff to look at, better villain and better ladies for GE.

    For Your Eyes Only

    An understated Moore entry, but none the worse for that. As already stated, a Cold War plot with Fleming tones aplenty. Bond is brought back down to earth, but still twinkles like no other screen hero. I love Willy Bogner's stunts, sage old Rog lecturing Melina on the perils of revenge (of course, Bond promptly forgets all that in LTK), the nod to Tracy at the beginning, Topol as perhaps the finest ally in the series, the cliff-climbing climax, even Conti's trumpets-a-blaring score is a pleasantly unique addition to the franchise.

    I love Goldeneye, but with For Your Eyes Only, we get that rarest of beasts: a Timothy Dalton-type film, with the immense charm, suavity, and timing, of Roger Moore. A winning combination.

    FYEO wins! I like GE a lot and don't mind Brosnan, but FYEO has the classic Bond feel and Rog at his peak.

    FYEO wins the round for me. Never been a big fan of GE, felt too much like a TV movie or something. At times it is brilliant. But then turns really, really bad the next.
    At least with FYEO, you get consistency, and a damn fine Roger Moore Bond film.

    I agree that FYEO is a Timothy Dalton-type Bond film. I think GE is one as well. Which is kind of why I wish he had made both of these series entries instead.

    I've learned to just not listen to the Brosnan bashing. I feel like there's no point even trying to point out why people think Brosnan was good anymore because people seem to just ignore it.

    Goldeneye. It spawned a hugely popular game and quite a few internet memes. Wasn't that much keen on FYEO.

    GoldenEye by far, more watchable and enjoyable than FYEO. It's hard for me to watch FYEO for some reason.
