Is Bond a good Chef?

My great-uncle was in the Navy as a cook. He served 3 campaigns and cooked a lot for the men. Steak, chicken, prawn, blue cod. I wish I was in the Navy personally but my time is filled right now running and managing by own business where we cover Bond and other local new news stories :)

My question is about when Bond was a Navy captain, do you think he had to go up through the ranks by first being a cook or a chef first...so he would have experience in that and cooking a good meal? If so what do you think would be his specialty dishes to serve the crew?
