I don't understand it either. Also, if he has a haircut of a similar style and/or length that'd be a bonus too. The extra bit of length suits him.
He’s looking great! There are some who really must be disappointed with this since just weeks ago they were calling him old and fat. Most have been appropriately silenced.
However, there were others that knew that this guy is not only a professional, but an individual who’s always been lean and athletic. We were guessing he’d be in shape within eight weeks... (and how many more weeks does he have before principal?; he’s a beast).
Now there is just one who sees a gut that no one else can.
Bring on B25.
Rami Malek- might also very well be another Mi6 agent, suitably so...
I just re-watched the CR, and the shower scene.. wow... what a delight. One strong scene and it completely catapults Bond & the "Bond girl" relationship on a whole new level (which was missing in Spectre with Madeleine). I'm personally hoping to see this kind of moment for a final DC Bond outing (alongside awesome action scenes - hoping for an underwater scene (!!!))- multiple layers and depth to play with for a great actor of his caliber. And not necessarily with Madeleine. A scene like this shows masculinity at its max ... very Bond'esque in a modern sense.
Nicely said @077 !
Rami Malek: 37 (turns 38 in May)
Robert Shaw: 36 during From Russia With Love. (Yes, I know he was a "physical villain.")
Joseph Wiseman: 43 during Dr. No filming, turned 44 shortly thereafter
Gert Frobe: 51 during Goldfinger.
Donald Pleasence: 47 during filming of You Only Live Twice
Adolfo Celi: 43 the year Thunderball was released.
Telly Savalas: turned 47 during filming of OHMSS
Charles Gray: 43 when Diamonds Are Forever came out.
Yaphet Kotto: 43 when Live And Let Die came out.
The point being that Malek isn't that much younger than many of the Bond villain actors in the early films. Plus, with good makeup, it's not that hard to make somebody look 5-10 years older. Don't take this as an endorsement. I'm just saying Malek isn't a kid.
I have to say that I always look forward to seeing what your next reference will be.
That shower scene was the best part of CR and one of the very best moments in the DC era.
There is a 25 year age gap between Waltz and Malek. It would also tie in to SP without having to use Waltz it they didn’t want too. Again, just a thought.
Similarly in OHMSS, it's the scene at Draco's birthday between Bond and Tracy. Simple and effective. However, in this film they move swiftly and directly into the montage sequence, which quickly delivers the courtship without filler, all to Louie's song. More effective in my view due to the brevity of it, but I can understand how this can't be repeated.
It would be brilliant if Bond’s first introduction to the villain in B25 would be in a game of chemin de fer. Similar to the scene in Thunderball where Bond meets Largo.
Bond plays chemin de fer numerous times in the films, most recently in GoldenEye, I believe.
There’s something so very Bondian about him playing the game.
John Gardner influenced perhaps? Tamil Rahani? For Special Services/Nobody Lives Forever?
Having previously taught Texas Hold 'Em and chemin de fer to people, they inevitably prefer the latter. Mostly because it's new, I suspect, but still.
I don't know anything about Mr. Robot but I am guessing the producers would be happy for one of their actors to also appear in a Bond film and would try and accommodate this if possible because of the massive free publicity it would give their show. They would just write and schedule the actors part around his Bond schedule.
With the growing awards buzz around Malek as Freddy Mercury you can also see why EON want him.
This. A bit longer hair makes Craig look younger, IMO.
He looks just like a Luca Brazi type from Godfather
That would work nicely.
At least he tucked it in for a change.

Which he really should. I mean, it’s his last movie as 007 and will instantly become part of cinema history - watched for decades to come. He owes it to the part.
However, I did see him having a beer at the Globes......
I’m kidding, he still looks great. I always thought he looked the most Bondian in SP in fact.
Likewise in these pics from the Green Book screening:
