Love it! So quaint & secluded.
I concur.
The whole thing was so flat and unpolished. As soon as they said "no title", I emotionally checked out.
The cast reveal would have had to do a lot to convince me otherwise - aside from Malik (who we know), De Armas and the return of Jeffrey Wright - I feel fairly uninspired by this information.
They are clearly going to reveal the title with the trailer - following Endgame and Rise of Skywalker - this is the fashion these days. God knows why.
Otherwise, the actual event was tepid and my surge of excitement dipped as soon as I saw that shoddy fan-made trailer of DC's films and Clara Amfo walking on a beech. Yawn....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Interesting notes:
⚫ This film has maintained a lot of Danny Boyle's crew.
⚫The lack of composer and clear decision to steal from the La La Land and First Man crew, suggests Damian Chazelle's composer will get picked.
⚫How creepy is Rami Malek in that video.
⚫The synopsis sounds like a lark. Could this be a more "fun" film.
Ha that's great
Could be (where's the spoiler button?):
- PTS: action setpiece with Bond
- Norway scenes right after the main titles with a kidnapped scientist.
- Jamaica. Bond retired, when Leiter turns up.
The Rory Kinnear one was much better though. It was absolutely fantastic!
Harris practically makes her living from brand endorsements and the like so is much better at this stuff. Craig put in a poor show though.
And the presenter was abysmal. Did anyone else notice how she mentioned Craig fourth out of the actors present? I know ladies first and all that but it was slightly odd.
A chicken farm?
I know this is DC last film but do you all think any part of the story will be a send off for him? Or will it just like the other Bonds last films where they didn’t leave it like it was their last film?
Good morning America interview with Malek, He also reconfirmed that this is Craig's last.
Outside of this forum, the reaction to the... presentation has been largely negative.
I am quite pissed. The casting, synopsis, is all good, but I could say the same for Spectre, and look how that turned out.
Just the overall feelings I got from everyone, I don't see any enthusiasm at all. Why was this rushed at all? I was really looking forward to Cary's answer on his take on this film, and his answer boiled down to "I want to one-up the last film". So lame on so many levels. The attitude everyone is bringing to this film destroys my confidence in it. I hope I'm wrong.
The event was underwhelming, yeah... starting off so beautiful with the location and the reality of being at Goldeneye and then getting nothing more out of it... I wish they had some more pre-recorded stuff in the absence of anyone having energy. I know it's early morning and awkward, but jeez.
No title was a let down.
The presenter did bring energy, but of course the questions were still picked and the usual lame ones, so none of the answers could be interesting or engaging.
The new male actors, including Rami are all great, so that's really good news.
Ana De Armas is hot for sure. My fears remain about a lot of girl-power story lines eating up Bond time. I mean Lashana Lynch did play the emotional support friend in Captain Marvel, "you're a proud woman.." dreck. Naomi Harris was great in her responses, but again I'm not thrilled with MI6 Team effort and that appears to be what we're getting again too.
Craig looked great. I think he loves being Bond and being an actor, not press events, especially live. Which is fine. I don't care or want a lead actor to be a great presenter and then a crap Bond.
Fukunaga looked uncomfortable, notably at the table with Barbara and Micheal. Hope that's just morning live stream awkwardness. But again, I would prefer a great filmmaker with mediocre presenter skills rather than the reverse (yes, I mean Mendes) so whatever...
It's a great cast, great locations and I'm okay with the synopsis... hopefully the script is where it needs to be.
Sc 15 for the exterior shots on the Norway ice lake? So, as a screenwriter myself and judging basic scene lengths from my own experience, I'd guess the Norway scene is several minutes after the titles. I'm betting a Maddy flashback in Jamaica stimulated by her fear of being left alone (and her fear of past catching up with them) if Bond leaves her alone to go on the mission for Felix. Just a guess again.
Exactly. There was a lot of good to be had.
And bottom line, we are finally rolling properly. Great to see Wright back.
And Ana looked stunning. (And Lea looks pretty good too!)
Same. The reaction on Reddit is almost entirely negative, apart from a few "I CLAPPED WHEN I SAW THE THING" types.
Scene 15 in SP was the helicopter above the square in Mexico city.
I wont be at all surprised if David Dencik will deliver the standout performance of Bond 25!
