Well, I don't think it's happened with Bond actors that had a lot of films; but Laz and Dalts went out on highs, IMO. Craig is the guy that can buck this trend.

Even if true, IF, just because he turned down an offer doesn't mean he's done. He doesn't want to do two films. He might be willing to do one more. Or simply one at a time and then renegotiate after the next one. Settle down, people.
