  • Well, I’ve written and published 8 novels, and I too don’t understand that particular post. But maybe we don’t know what we’re talking about, @peter :) Life’s a short mystery and we have to learn from each and every uninformed opinion ;)
  • What do you guys think of the premise that they should make a good film, that happens to be a Bond film? I suppose this is purely syllogistic. But I find that most good Bond films are first and foremost, good films overall (FRWL, OHMSS, TLD, GE, …
  • Not to extend an over extended discussion, but for me I would only cut the Moneypenny scenes from it, the rest of it is properly ghostly, as it should be in a film with SP for title ;)

  • I campaigned actively for Theo James ages ago. He’s as has been as Aidan Turner, unfortunately, as far as age is concerned. Too bad, he’s got a brilliant voice, as deep as, say, Richard Armitage’s. He voiced the Witcher animated movie at some point.
  • Just came by to say the last page or two of this thread has the best reading posts I’ve read in the forums for a long time. Some of the members have their thinking hats on and that’s brilliant. Cary on chaps. Cheers
  • I’ve changed my mind on ATJ. Smugness must be earned, and he hasn’t earned it. And I too detest his high pitched voice. It seems there are no good deep voices in cinema these days. So sad. Where have all the Welsh men gone? ;) We need a shakesperian…
  • O’Connell may not have the height, but he has what all other so called candidates lack: gravitas. Oh, and acting chops. And the respect of many filmmakers. After seeing him in many productions, I’d be ok with his casting. He steals every scene he’s …

  • Yes, I must say I don't want that fella as Bond. Can't for the life of me imagine what I was thinking when I said I'd be ok with his casting. What a smug, high pitched w*nker, as someone said ;)
  • I wouldn’t count on it. It’ll be a couple of years. I’d be surprised if they announced anything regarding Bond26 before 2026. Pleasantly surprised, mind you.
  • mtm wrote: » No I can't see Cavill bringing a box office with him either: Bond is a bigger draw than him and I'm not sure he has a massive fanbase. I feel like the main reaction would be indifference- a fairly average actor who people will recogni…
  • People do question high quality things. There are those who are critic of the very best. Today we get to hear and read these mostly cinical and uninformed voices more than before, thanks to social media. They are unfiltered, and we have no idea of t…

  • You guys keep going on about alpha male physicallity and athleticism, but when I think about Bond I always go back to that sort of post war chap like Lieutenant-Commander Home Ronald Archibald Kidston - do look him up. This sort of post 2000s gor…
  • Frankly, I’d like to be. But I’m not. It’s just a CGI fest now, with no good physics dynamics, not unlike any Marvel crap, IMO.

  • One note about Sope. I’ve just seen him in Slow Horses and I’m baffled. His voice is unremarkable and I couldn’t find a drop of that alpha male stuff you guys keep on talking about. I found him bland as hell. And my expectations were kind of high. D…
