  • I wish! I have set aside more time than I did with the other (which I keep calling AGA when it is actually AUA!). It's the first draft - getting the story down. When it's finished the real work begins with at least three rewrites to polish the thing.
  • Well inspired by the reaction I've had to AGA I'm cracking on with the next book and am into the final third of the first draft. I have also incorporated one or two ideas mooted by folks here (Shillelagh ;) ) Without committing myself I hope t…
  • I wonder of Mr Horowitz takes the trouble to look at fan sites such as MI6 to get a measure of what core literary Bond fans think about his work and where he should be going with his next book?

  • @Torgeirtrap the Rintoul books were available on you tube a while ago but I'm not sure if they are still there.
  • Unfortunately I don't do electronic payments of any kind but I wish you luck with the venture.
  • @Torgeirtrap I have the ones narrated by David Rintoul This collection of narrators looks interesting: http://www.audible.co.uk/series?asin=B00HS4TWXC There are samples from them here: https://audioboom.com/posts/1109161-live-and-let-die…
  • @Torgeirtrap yes, most definitely. They are unabridged narrated versions of the books so while it might not be convenient to read (whilst commuting for example) you can listen. I haven't listened to them for a while and from memory they are each bet…

  • As I said in another post I was dubious when I sat down to listen to my first 007 audio drama but have been a convert ever since. I think they're a great bridge between the films and the books.
  • I know the Mods have made comment about this elsewhere but if we could just get rid of those damned spammers. They are deleted quickly but sadly there appears no way within the system to automatically block them from joining in the first place. I…

  • The Professionals starring a host of Hollywood top names. Great film.
  • Bond was in the service during WW2. Remember the part in CR about his killing of a Japanese spy at the Rockefeller Center in New York City and a Norwegian double agent who had betrayed two British agents.
  • From memory I believe Sir Rog as Simon Templar tangled with neo Nazis on occasion. In one episode he even came across someone claiming to be Hitler's daughter! I recall the New Avengers episode Thunderpussy mentions as I watched reruns of then of…
  • I have run some scans - AVG/Malwarebytes and Spybot with no result. I tried to stop auto updates with Opera but can't figure out how to. In a last ditch attempt to get the thing working again I turned off the 'turbo' (data compression) feature. Hey …
  • @Dragonpol, I had a look on the net and here's some reading about the chap I was speaking about: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepper's_ghost Although I haven't watched it here's a you tube video on the same subject: Regarding the figur…
  • I have had TM sitting on my bookshelf since it first came out. I promised myself I would read it when I had finished my book. Unfortunately my ambition was dashed for when that was published I immediately set to work on the second! I will read it…
  • With those photographs I am reminded of the case of a well known 19th century conjuror - I don't know his name - who made a handsome living going round the UK and most likely Europe with a stage show which purported to raise the dead. People used to…

  • Thanks,@Dragonpol. I have tried IE but can't get on with it and - I think - Chrome is closely related to Opera so the same issue may raise its head? I switched from Firefox after using it for as long as I have had internet access but went over to Op…
  • @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 Yes I understand that and my remarks were aimed at both camps. As I said no one who claimed to have witnessed paranormal activity - in whatever form it manifested itself to them - has claimed a link between it and religion so i…
  • @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 I don't disagree with you, but 'ghosts' per se and religion should not be intertwined for the purposes of this debate. To the best of my belief none of the 'believers' here have tied any of their encounters to religion so why…
