Although I would have loved a proper remake of the book of YOLT as Craig's final bond, I am happy just to see Craig return. The Blofeld plot could be wrapped up in a PTS ala For Your Eyes Only. It would be quite good to have a PTS nothing to do with the rest of the film for the first time since the Roger Moore days....

Except that FYEO´s pts was a clever comment on the situation that Eon couldn´t get their hands on the rights to Blofeld. I understand Cubby was pretty worried in those days that he couldn´t find comparable villains.
Doing away with Blofeld in a new pts would be rather the opposite of that brazen statement from FYEO, it would be a gesture of defeat, of not being able to use their best asset after waiting so long for the rights to use him.

Is it weird that I’m currently more optimistic about Johnny English Strikes Again than B25?

It's appropriate you have more concern for BOND 25...
than for Johnny English Strikes Back Again, @BMW_with_missiles.

It's just a matter of thinking Johnny English will have an easier time meeting your expectations. Nothing sinister.

This production still from JE is gorgeous; I wouldn't mind if Bond 26 would have a similar vibe. It's time for some color!

I suppose it has to do with my having low expectations for the fun factor in B25 with Boyle and Craig in the picture. Johnny English 3 is guaranteed to be good fun entertainment for me.

Just speculating, but if there is indeed a young female agent who will work with Bond, I wouldn't be surprised if she turns out a traitor.

Today I started work at 06.30 and then 5 mins before I was about to leave a load of shit went down and I didn't get out till 19.30. Back in again at 06.30 tomorrow.

I wonder if I threaten to slit my wrists they'll let me have 3 years off?

Oh yay. We get to bring up that misunderstood quote for, like, the millionth time.

Not often enough for the kids here. Kindergarden this is.
Madam please don't mistake me for a moron who doesn't understand that the slit wrists thing was just a throwaway comment at the end of a long shoot.

But what I can't listen to is Dan's bleating (although he's not alone at EON there to be fair) that working hard for 6 months every 2 or 3 years - and getting remunerated in the tens of millions by the way - is so draining it is almost comparable with taking a German gun emplacement on Sword beach or walking on foot to the South Pole.

The Bond role is an exceptionally good gig. But if you need 4 years between every film I'm afraid it's not for you. The very least you can do for your copious amounts of money is be prepared to turn up every couple of years.

But when the time comes to film a Bond movie, no Bond actor has ever put as much into that role as he has. That part isn't even debatable.

Apart from bulking up and staring intensely pissed off 24/7, may I ask what exactly you mean?

Your usual, highly intelligent bs answer. If you dont know his Bond history, just shut up.

And since you are never interested in facts, but only in putting everything down, its no use in filling you in. Not worse the effort.

I guess it is very safe to say, that I know more about Bond history then you will ever know. Why, you ask? Simply because I'm a Bond fan and not a Daniel Craig groupie.

Again - not what I said. I talked about DCs personal Bond history, but since you are a hater, you know nothing about it or choose to ignore it. So, I ask you to simply stay away from statements that show this ignorance. Easy enough, Id think.

I could always look forward to an picture I‘m waiting for, eagerly (like BR2049) - yet nothing will ever meet that childish joy knowing a new Bond movie is getting made or released. I don‘t think I will ever grow out of this :-D

And I am getting tired of having to endure the same silly bitching without being allowed to answerr to them - straightforward, without drssing it up nicely. See it like this - I sm here for 10 years something, longer then most of you. I am the old Lady sitting in the room full of people. She is old enough to not feel the need anymore to be polite, where there is no reason, to be. She sees them, as they are and adresses them accordingly. Bless old age. So - you two, Bird snd Jake, think about what bitching you allow and which not. Try to be fair maybe, too. This old lady wont change anymore and lucky enough, she is not saying a lot these Days. But silly bitching she will adress and there is no reason to not allow it.

I know, many have decided to sinply ignore him, but as we see, that doesnt make him go away, so telling him where to stick his arrogance and negativity once in a while, cant hurt. Now can it?

Boyle’s films often have plenty of humour. Not sure why you imagine a Boyle Bond wouldn’t be fun.

Yeah the Trainspotting movies are miles funnier than either of the first two Johnny English films. I guess if by fun you mean fairly lightweight and escapist then fair enough, Boyle and Craig will probably want to do some gritty character stuff. But I'm sure there'll be plenty of humour, and I think SF and SP had just the right amount anyway.

To be fair though even though they're far from his best work, I do like the Johnny English films. Silly guilty pleasure movies. I'll definitely watch the third one at some point.

Mabey it will be MGM/Sony movie again without Fox like Casino Royale.

    http://www.darkhorizons.com/bond-future-unclear-due-to-mgm-sale/
It looks like the James Bond franchise could be used as bait in a potential studio sale reports THR. The sudden departure of MGM CEO Gary Barber a few weeks ago has led to talk of MGM going on the block and its most valuable property, the Bond franchise, set to be a major selling point of any potential deal.

At last report, it seemed Annapurna had scored the domestic rights to the franchise, but that’s not the case and in fact both domestic and global rights have not yet been decided on. The delay over the decision to not only find a new home for 007 but also to select a new CEO has led to all the potential sell-off talk.

The MGM library generates about $300 million a year in revenue, the Bond franchise is said to be worth between $1-3 billion, and MGM recently purchased Epix which is valued at $1 billion. As a result, a sale price for the studio would be in the $6+ billion range. Sony is said to be interested and has the money for it.

Whatever the case, with production on the next Bond film due to start around year’s end under the helm of Danny Boyle, MGM will have to make a big decision soon about its future..

That mean Sony released the movie in the cinema and on DVD and Bluray. Sony classical will do the soundtrack. Whyle Danny Boyle has made a lot of movies for Fox, Trainspotting 1 & 2 are Sony movies.

Rowan Atkinson will never better his work in Blackadders 2,3 and 4 (1 is rubbish). I remember seeing Bean for the first time in the mid/late 90s and thinking ‘what is this garbage’. Clearly I was wrong on a commercial level as he’s made an insane amount of money on the back of Bean but it is sad to think how great he was as Edmund and then what came after.

I'm not sure it will be Sony given the current environment. I'd say an American buyer is more likely, if a deal is in fact in the works.

Another thing to keep in mind is a potential deal takes at least 6 months to work through. It's a complicated process from announcement to 'close' and could have implications. So hopefully it's not something that happens too soon.

Maybe Sony's Home Entertainment unit learned from its mistakes and not mess up with MGMs library this time.... That was one of the reasons they left for Fox in 06, along with greedy executives.

Although I can see a possible scenario that Sony makes a deal with Paramount or Fox to distribute their own films on DVD and Blu Ray because they have been on a losing streak in the terms of revenue and talks of a sale for themselves. Imagine a Spider Man DVD with the Fox logo on the back... I could see that happening

Yes the writing is brilliant on the Third. But 2 and 4 are also excellent. Hard to choose.

Ben Elton saved it basically. He wasn’t involved in the First - I think Curtis wrote that on his own.

Wonder what kind of Bond film Curtis would write... whether he could turn his hand to something thrillerish but work in some romance and comedy.

Oh definitely. No arguments from me.

I think Atkinson himself was involved in writing the first as well, but didn't contribute - at least not officially - to the rest. Or so I recall.

Disney better not put it's dirty paws on MGM or Bond. I could see Comcast trying to buy MGM to rival Fox/Disney
