Ed Sheeran In Talks For Danny Boyle-Richard Curtis Music-Themed Comedy Movie

Those not on the Ed Sheeran bandwagon better hope he and Boyle don't hit it off too hard.

I think there is a reasonable possibility that Sheeran does the next Bond song.

We might be looking at Sam Smith 2.0, then.

Unless Ed Sheeran has a secret Tom Jones side to his voice that we don't know about, I can't picture me liking anything he does.

However, I have heard a number of one-on-one interview with him, and he really knows his stuff in terms of songwriting and the creative process. He already has experience contributing to film, and writes for many other artists, so he may collaborate with another artist behind-the-scenes, but not be the actual artist.

This guy makes some horrible music, people are putting him in movies now, too? He already ruined the last season premiere of Game of Thrones for me, hopefully he doesn't get a Bond theme song gig, too.

That is indeed possible. Didn't he say he had written a theme some time back? I believe him.

I just have this feeling Blofeld will be back in some way. I just feel the producers would want that.

Given that we're at the end of Craig's continuity era, it does make sense for a Blofeld to appear, but more so in a scene where he's sitting in prison, or an empty cell and his photo in the accompanying newspaper article about his escape. The main villain could be another spectre member vying for the top job.

Or they can hang his picture on a wall during the finale.

The producers will definitely want that, but Boyle will be against the idea. Why? Because it's a terrible idea.

Read my lips: Blofeld. Won't. Be. Back.

If it's Boyle I really don't see Blofeld back in any capacity. This idea is quite original from what we've learned.

They could return Blofeld in the opening movie of a new 007 with a new approach and some more fun.

I could see them going the silence of the lambs route. Use Blofeld to help beat another villain.

Agreed, I don't see it either.

Wonder if (and a big if) the MI6 team doesn't come back, his idea is to strip Bond of their aid, and have a barebones espionage mission more in line with Casino Royale. Maybe he's betrayed like in Die Another Day and left to his own devices. Just speculating.

I'm not convinced Blofeld will or will not return. Certainly I lean more toward no because of Boyle and Hodge wanting to do their own thing, but it's still possible he might show up at the insistence of Eon. If he does, he definitely will play no more than a small role in the film, in the style of the Scarecrow in the Batman sequels by Christopher Nolan.

An idea somebody had on here once was no MI6 team at all. Bondless PTS setting up the story and then after the titles we have Bond getting off the plane, already on his mission. We'd find out what he's doing as the film goes on instead of through exposition.

I really liked the idea because I think it's a great way of really stripping things back to basics and making Bond a bit more mysterious/enigmatic, but I think it'd work best as an introduction to a new Bond actor.

Agreed. I like this idea very much.

I'm all for the 'stripped down barebones espionage mission' too. Long overdue and it would help to take it back to and re-establish the film character for a new generation.

    Sheeran is the obv choice.

Would be surprised if Boyle didn’t include Harris in his film.

Hopefully Madeleine Swann returns, especially after the end of SP it would be very disappointing if there's no explanation what happened to her

There is one split second scene in Spectre that makes me believe that both Blofeld and Madeline will return. Not saying i like that idea but that scene alone should be somehow adressed, otherwise Spectre will become even more redundant than it already is.
I am talking about the scene at the end when Craig kisses Madeline on the bridge and the way Blofeld is looking at them both... you can see in his eyes he is plotting something for them, it is very deliberately set up to show us "this isn't over".

But technically they could skip it for 25 and maybe continue the plot in 26, but bringing Madeline back then would be strange.

She will be mentioned in some capacity i'm sure but she will either be killed off screen or it just didn't work out between her and Bond.

Then her story can be closed and Blofeld put on ice until B27.
