Agreed...Craig isnt ageing well, and another 2-3 years i think he is putting all he has done at risk..it will be stunt doubles etc and he wouldnt want that.
His story arc is finished.
I couldn't find a thread about Things You Want To See In A Bond Film (note: Not things to return from old films, or never wanting to see something, separate threads), so I'll post this one here.
I do truly wish, whether it's 'Bond 25' or a future installment in the series, the filmmakers feature the song "La Vie En Rose" derived from the novels. It's one of the most important keys in the literary universe of the Bond franchise that hasn't made its way to the films yet.
To me at this point in time Craig coming back is pretty much a surety.
But I agree it goes back to circumstance and happenstance. And SPECTRE would be unusually fine closure as compared to how the other actors finished.
If he says he's finished with the role, then his word is his bond. If he says he's coming back, he's coming back.
2019 is also the 50th anniversary of On Her Majesty's Secret Service
That's your first mistake, my friend!
Dan will definitely not force it if he's not up to it, that's the best thing about him. We wouldn't see him AVTAK himself into a geriatric Bond film. He's commitment minded, and if he can't give it his all he won't bother. I think he's aging as a man his age would, however; he's nearly 50 for Christ's sake and can't look wrinkle-free. And even still he's able to do the kind of action no other Bond would've or could've done, and shows his resilience and acuity for stunt work no matter what the demand is. If Tom Cruise is already mid 50s and can do this sort of thing, Dan will have no problem keeping up.
I just don't see him quitting now, judging from the "to be continued" nature of his SP comments and how he acts in general about the job (very cheerily).
Now how he ages from the neck up is a different story; in recent pictures he looks outstanding, but obviously the longer between productions the older he will look.
In short, Craig will be physically up to the task of playing 007 for the next decade and beyond.
Craig stopped looking the part in SP, imo. The lighting has to be perfect in order to get him to get his CR look (Donna Lucia's residence).
I've said previously, he has to be photographed properly and frequently he looks better outside of Bond. I'm afraid this is veering off topic. :D
@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 I'm trying to! Wish I had as much faith as you.
I think we'll both be happy with the end result. All my faith is in Daniel.
That won't happen. Either they are committed to the timeline or they aren't, in which case Craig leaves. Don't think he would be interested in returning for a "throw away" adventure.
